For Rivals' subscribers - there is a nice discussion started by Duane Rossiter describing how close both Malauga and Sanchez were to committing to Nebraska.

Apparently, we possibly have Rey's dad and Harrison Beck to blame for not having these kids around.

Of course, Carroll also worked hard to get those kids as well.

I once heard that Sanchez wanted to come here, but we got Beck so Callahan removed the offer, so he went to SC.

And if anyone remembers the look on Rey's face when HIS FATHER pulled out the USC hat from the bag to show who he was going to commit to during the AA Game, well that right there shows you who he truly wanted to be playing with. No doubt he has made his time at USC a good situation for himself, but one could only get the feeling that Rey's college choice was all about what daddy wanted! And that my friends is sad!
