Iowa St. vacancy

I think ISU would be a bad decision for Turner and I say that dead seriously. I really think ISU needs to be taken out of the Big XII and someone inserted in their place. They just don't have the talent or facilities to compete with Division I programs. I really think they need to step down to the Division II level.

No...I have to disagree with that. They might want to think about going someplace like the MAC or Conference USA, but not a move down to Div 2. If they downgraded , then only down to 1AA.

Really, what ISU needs is a stronger commitment to being a football school. And some luck in recruiting. Maybe a college football draft might help.....

i cannot believe what i am hearing here. if any school needs to go from the big 12, i hope its baylor. put tcu in their place. granted, losing baylors academic notoriety would be a loss, but lets face it...this is obviously a football conference. isu has had considerable football success , and if you cant remember that then you need to head to a football 101 class. with the right coach, isu could dominate iowa for recruits, and challenge for the north. i know personally id rather have them and their fan base be sucessful in the north other than mizzou. all it would take is the right coach. lets be honest here, who was the team that gave us a nightmare game or two when we were in our prime? it certainly wasnt mizzou, ksucks, or kansas. im sorry, but saying iowa state is anything less than a div 1 program is completely ignorant. granted, they may never be a top tier school, but they have had enough success and been in enough games, with enough pro players, to be right along with the k states or anywhos of the world. any husker fan that thinks that we are royalty and isu needs to downgrade to a lower division compared to the current state of college fooball is severly mistaken. they just havent had a good run of luck. im going to laugh all day long at auburn for pullin chizik back into the fold. but at the same time, maybe it was a bad fit. isu is not the dog a lot of people want to make them out to be. as far as success in the north, maybe its once every couple years, but does a school that has multiple grads playing qb in the nfl, really deserve to be a div II? isu can do just as well as anyone else in this conference, and say a t gill ends up being their coach, watch the eff out.

Speaking confidentially...I've heard rumors of Gill coming over....but....I've heard even louder rumors of another coach with Nebraska ties being looked at real hard...and it's not Callahan... <_<

I'm glad to see Chizek...and his crappy attitude...go. Too bad he won't be taking Pollard with him.

Actually...from what I HEARD...Watson is on the list, but now way up on it. Cotton isn't on it at all. Solich now...think about it.

I just hope there's actually a search committee and not just Pollard pulling another coach out of his a$$. His choices thus far have A) Sucked (Chizek) and B) Sucked (McDermott)

Frost is not under consideration though his boss is.

Me...I'd take Barry Switzer. There's nothing he could do to drive this program any further into the dirt... <_<
