Depends on what record is a crap record.

Fitz's records are more dependent on the state of his opponents and less dependent on the state of his own team. It's smart to have that plan at Northwestern. They are thrilled with him being .500 or slightly above most years, and will live with the occasional 3 or 4 win seasons because he's also had the occasional 9-10 win season.

It's not how Northwestern plays against us, it's how we play against them. It's been that way since Nebraska joined the Big Ten.

To me, right now, record is irrelevant, I want to look like we are growing in scheme, talent, etc...that means  more to me...if that means we go 2-10 but we show growth as the season goes on and we have tangibly shown a solid foundation going into next year...i will take that over 5-7 with just humdrum s#!t that rinses and repeats next year

I’m going with good.  21-0 is not bad. Year 2 and 1st game they look good to the eyeball test.......I am hoping we beat them.  Hate to see us go 0-3 against Tucker at two different schools.....

Just as Illinois is better than advertised due to being the most experienced team in the NCAA. Northwestern returns some of the fewest and is likely worse than most years.
