Is there anything positive to take from yesterday's game?

My recent investment in the pitchfork emporium is taking off

Well, things certainly are more interesting.

Looks like we probably won't have to put up with another boring 9 win season.

I was gonna go with the pass defense improvement. Then i rewatched and realized how many balls illinois dropped and that Lunt was about as accurate as a fifth grader.

Nothin here either.

No, we already know we have good running backs in an offense that doesn't use them. There was nothing unusual that happened in this game to project much upside. Saying we need to scrap everything and start over is not usually seen as a positive development. 13 points?

Oh, I did thing of one positive thing.......the Chinese rooting for their Illinois team loved it.

If you can't meet the goal, change the goal. Now making a bowl game is going to be the challenge. Theoretically we could still win the conference, at least the west, but realistically, the wisconsin game will probably put an end to that goal. However, it is being played in Lincoln so if Riley can somehow get control of this team (a big if) and they start playing real Nebraska football (something we haven't seen for years, almost decades) things could still turn around. I doubt it but ....it could happen.

How about this: despite the complaints about the lack of depth (some of which is valid), we apparently have some backups who can play pretty well.

Janovich isn't the fastest or strongest guy on the field, but almost every time he runs the ball he gets plenty of yards and I'll bet the defender(s) that engage him are getting worn down from the impacts. The dude is a beast.
