Is this anyone else's favorite time as a Husker fan?

I agree with almost everything you said except the bolded part. While the ASU game sucked, the loss to Texa$$ was much, much worse. Not only was our team riddled with the flu bug, it knocked us out of a chance to play in the Sugar Bowl for a 3rd straight NC.

Even the players from the team will tell you the tu loss was worse.
I have no idea what you're talking about. We didn't play Texas in 1996. Do you hear me? IT NEVER HAPPENED. :cry

Because I was born in '84 and I really started paying close attention in '93, I always feel very spoiled at what I became accustomed to. The first 5 years that I was seriously watching Husker football they rattled of a 60-3 record so when we lost a step with Solich and then went down in flames with Callahan, I thought the world was ending. Although it has been nice to see a comeback with Coach Pelini, I know that a run like that will probably never happen again. It is very exciting though to tell friends that things are once again starting to "become right in the world". I'll always be spoiled for what I started with, but at least I have set a high bar for myself and the Huskers!

Having been there, it's definitely up there for me. Getting to mosh into the insufferable CU student in front of me when Henery made the kick made it all the sweeter. Born in 89', it's definitely my top moment at the stadium. All time though, it doesn't hold up to the 96 Fiesta Bowl, with the 98 Fiesta Bowl a close second.

Yeah being only 19, that moment and the drive against Texas am were probably my two favortie moments I remember. I do remember watching the game against Tennessee but I dont remember any moment in that game.

2001 was my favorite season,Crouch was my favorite player and I was really upset after the colorado game.I really wanted crouch to win a national championship.

as henery approaches the ball you can hear the air come out of everyone in the stadium. i was fortunate enough to be there, and it was like a tornado sucked the air out of my lungs as the ball was snapped and then pure mayhem as the north stadium erupted first and i felt like i had a 100 inch vertical. lol it was awesome!

Born in '84. Loved the Skers since I can remember (thanks to my pops). 90s were the greatest 'cause I'd had just enough taste of the stomach-wrenching losses in late 80s/early 90s to really appreciate our dominance. Times are exciting now too, can't wait to see where we go from here 'cause there's nothing quite like the feeling of Nebraska national champs :bigredn:

I guess I'm not even sure myself, even though I'm posting this. Since we did win the titles in the 90s, I'm not all angsty wishing we'd finally win one, so I can relax and enjoy this. If we hadn't, maybe I wouldn't feel the same way. I would have loved it if we had never gone through the recent losing seasons, but there's something to be said for having a "comeback." From the Colorado win in 2008 to the Arizona game was my favorite period so far. It also helps that I'm an adult now. I was only 11 in 1993. (But I do remember crying myself to sleep when we missed the FG against Florida State the year before).

Anyway, I'm sure you've all watched this 100 times but I'm going to link it anyway because I think it ranks up there as one of the best Nebraska plays, including ones that happened in championship seasons. I can't watch it enough. (Okay fine, two plays).

I gotta be honest, when they show that shot of Pelini talking to Alex and they said after the game that Henerey came up to Pelini and told him "I can make it coach" and Pelini gave him the chance, I get a tear in my eye every time. I remember the next day going to the MU/KU game at Arrowhead and telling my mom about it and bawling my eyes out. Any father who can picture their kid in that situation should be able to relate. I've never been happier for a kid in my life, just something that is a once in a lifetime deal! He may hit bigger kicks in the NFL later in life, but as a 20 year old kid, to be able to walk up to your head coach and look him straight in the eye and tell him to give you a chance, then deliver, that's pretty freaking sweet if you ask me. VERY cool Husker moment, for sure!!

Considering I really got into Husker football around the '04-'05 seasons, yes, this is quite a fantastic time indeed.

1995 was a fantastic year to be a Husker fan since we were national champs in both football and volleyball.
