Is this where you thought Nebraska would be heading into Season 3 of Big Ten?

I watched the SC/Stanford game, and thought, no matter who wins, the other team played well. I really want that again. Losses are tough, but knowing you are improving, gaining knowledge, both players and staff, they are acceptable. I just do not feel that is part of this program.

I do not see things magically changing next year. We have all hoped it would by now. 6 years now, I my attitude has changed. A loss used to just kill me, carried it the whole week, now, Gawd I hate saying it, but I expect us to screw up and lose. In some respects I guess it makes it easier for me. Getting old, well very old, and I notice that the games are not as important, win or lose. Sad that happens, or has happened, but the pride, the respect for the program is not there. We are becoming a joke on the National scene. I had to listen to my SC boss about how they were back, just a small stumble. Do I think we will get back? I have no answer.
1) Where did Orgeren come from

2) Why are they still searching for a new coach

3) It confuses me when I hear "Oregon" when someone speaks of USC

Pretty impressive what a coaching change did for USC.

Exactly the same way I feel unfortunately skersfan, it hurts to say that, but it's reality at this point. We screw up in every game on some level. There are fundamental breakdowns or mental breakdowns in every game. It's frustrating, we don't play good football, we play sloppy football, it drives me nuts!

I became a fan of Orgeron yesterday morning just listening to his interview on the ol' AM radio. Over-the-top southern drawl and all. I didn't think they'd actually beat Stanford, though. Damned impressed with the guy now.

In Nebraska's wins this year the opponent records so far 19-41 (excluded SDSU as they are FCS) and in losses the opponents are 25-5. Only one team we have beaten has more than 4 wins. This is at best a mediocre team that has done nothing to make me think it will get any better with the current regime
I don't care about these numbers. You can take your facts elsewhere. The important stat is those opponents moral victories. That 19-41 becomes 56-4 when you include moral victories, I'd say that's damn impressive. Those teams we lost to haven't lost a game all year in the MV category. The fact that Nebraska is undefeated right now and playing crisp, clean sound Funda-mental football and we still have people complaining....sheesh. Go Big Morals!

Just win, baby.

It's been long enough in the Big Ten to get acclimated. Wisconsin and even Michigan State have established themselves as superior programs right now. Michigan, PSU, and tOSU have and still do own the conference. Maryland is trying to become Oregon East.

Players win games. Recruit smarter, coach smarter. You can talk about it all day. Moral victories count for nothing.

Just win, baby.

This team was supposed to coast to a division title on the back of a very easy schedule, and, if they could survive UCLA early, they would have a chance to be unbeaten on Nov. 9 facing a possibly unbeaten Michigan squad in the Big House. Remember how plausible that sounded?
This team isn't the team we started the season with. People forget how many injuries we've sustained. That changes expectations. The only thing that has really gone to plan was the maturation of a very young defense.

Just win, baby.

Moral victories count for nothing? Shush. The boys just had their din din. They ate off their favorite Sesame Street plates, you know, with the three little dividers. KB and TA hate when their foodies get all mixed. I let the defensive players use their spider man silverware since they were so tired and tried so hard yesterday. I told them, no boys, you didn't lose, there was a scoreboard malfunction they had the numbers switched up. They clapped and we all did the chicken dance with our new Chicken Dance Elmo I bought em. But if you keep talking about this no moral victories stuff, you are going to wake them from their nappy time, and they are going to be very grumpy.
