Israel - Iran War

The Taliban runs Afghanistan. Isnt that what a government is? You dont just overthrow a govt and then everything is sunshine and roses. And didnt this current Iranian regime eventually come into power due to the Iranian coup the US orchestrated in the 1950s? How have we not learned from all the regime change disasters we did after WW2. Nicaragua, Congo, Cuba, Guatemala, Korea, Vietnam. None of those turned out great, so what makes this any different?

And dont you consider yourself Libertarian? Arent Libertarians against this type of BS?
Most of the Afghanistan war the Taliban was ousted and not in control.

I am a libertarian. I am still against this. We shouldve let Israel settle this themselves. Im merely just saying that it is not all good or all bad. There will undoubtably be positives and negatives.

A ground war wouldn't be like Afghanistan, but it has every chance to turn into another Iraq and ISIS thing. However, Iran is already one of the most liberal Islamic states, and they have a large population who would support a liberal regime change. Those people just hold none of the power and weapons.

Correct and as soon as we left, they took it back over. So the one reason we started that war in the first place was a failure in the end. Trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of deaths all for nothing. So whats the end game in Iran? Regime change and then another evil regime or terrorist network takes over and causes more instability in the region? Destroy their nuclear program by force which will make them more determined to build a nuke knowing diplomacy is futile? Either way, it will fail in the end just like all the other times since WW2.

So I guess we're going with regime change and not "now is the time for peace."  That says the mission wasn't the success they made it out to be.

Nevermind Lindsey's strawman.  Nobody likes the Iranian regime.  But if we're all in on regime change can anyone take a stab at how that's going to unfold?  Again, I'm guessing the "plan of the moment" is to topple the mullahs and leave a vacuum.  Because this war planning stuff is hard work and Trump doesn't have the grit or mental capabilities to stay with it.

And we haven't even touched the question of constitutionality.
