fire fulmer, he sucks blah blah blah. Hire some pro guy,he'll save everything.
Anyway you look at it Benard his team is 4-6. That is terrible. He took a 10 win team and turned them into a 4(could be 5 they have one more game)win team. Isn't this what you wanted Billy C. gone for? I'm sure it is most of the same kids from last year.
I realize Tennessee hasn't lived up to expectations this year, but lets look at who they've played and who we've played. Tennessee has played Florida, LSU, Georgia, Alabama, and Notre Dame. Now, lets see where those teams are ranked. LSU is the #3 team in the country. Notre Dame is the #6 team in the country. Georgia is the #13 team in the country. Alabama is the #14 team in the country. Florida is the #19 team in the country.
The only team Nebraska has even played in the Top 25 is TT and they are ranked just above Florida at #18. Tennessee beat the #3 team in the country. When you try to compare records, you need to at least keep the SOS in mind. No way in hell NU would have a better record than Tennessee if we played their schedule. The only game Tennessee has been blown out in was against Notre Dame. I think Notre Dame is just a tad bit better than Mizzou or Kansas this year. I'm sure the loss to Vanderbilt was just as embarrassing to them as our loss was to KU. However, they lost by 4 points rather than 25!
I realize your point, but then we have to look back to last year. Tennessee only played 2 Top 25 teams last year not 5. South Carolina isn't the same team this year as they were last year either. Nebraska has played one Top 25 team this year. Last year, we played 2 Top 25 teams and beat one of them. Even in 2002 when our record was poor, we only played 4 Top 25 teams. I can't remember a time when we have had the schedule Tennessee did this year.
Unlike NU, I hope Tennessee gives Fulmer a break. I would hope they'd give him at least 1 more year to turn his program around. Unlike NU's situation, Fulmer has had success and has won it all. He has a proven track record, BC does not. He needs at least one more year. If things don't turn around, then a possible change is needed.
