Its not the end of the world.............

Maybe we will see a back field like USC had with Bush and White. I think Lucky and Wilson kind of remind me of those two. I would like to see some snaps with the two of them together for a few quarters each game and not just a snap here and there together. I still think Wilson reminds me of Rozier and Phillips with his size and speed. He has all the tools to be a great back.

GBR!!!

BJ was going to be the starter the year before. He was listed ahead of Cory. He injured his shoulder, any of this coming back.

Many on here stated he would be the premier back this year. But until he proved his shoulder problems were over he stayed buried. HE did not just come out of nowhere.

He was the only complete back we had.

Exactly. While I personally think that his declaring for the draft was the best thing for him, his loss is going to hurt unless one of the other backs learns to pick up the blitz...

Each of the guys can run - that's not the issue. Yes, Lucky needs to learn to run tougher; Glen needs some more burst and wiggle (not sure about his hands) and Wilson needs to hold on to the ball.

But the main thing is that in the West Coast, the tailback has to be able to pick up the blitz - and that means recognizing when to release to the outside as the hot read and when to stay in the backfield. And that means recognition skills. I haven't seen that out of the other three yet. Doesn't mean they can't develop that skill, and it doesn't mean they won't - but until they do, losing BJax hurts big time.

I agree AR..........Lucky, Glenn, and Wilson have to work on that hard in the off-season. They need to learn to recognize that stuff and help their QB out or whomever it is will be laying on their back quite a bit and we will see some blind side hits with some turnovers!!!! :hellloooo

Is everyone forgetting the big Quentin Castille he will be thrown into the mix. Second I agree with the assessment that Lucky seems almost hesitant in his style, very slow to point of attack, but if he does get into secondary watch out. Callahan realizes this and try to get the ball to him in space hence the screens and multiple checkdowns by Taylor, he is a great catching back.

I thought Marlon showed great progress. He had the best natrual instints of the commitee. Did the little things the best of them like ball security, always having the ball in the right hand and a great tuck. I think Jackson having such a great yr running with the ball took some of the shine off Marlon. PPl started comparing the two a lot. I wasn't really impressed with none of them in pass pro. Seen em all get ran over including Glenn or whiff on blocks.

We must also remember Marlon's back gave him some ugly moments. He lost a little lean into the line and started running a little more upright. Its understandable. I thought what grit in the Cotton bowl. You could tell he was really hurting. Also thought he was best coming off the bench as I did with Jackson. They both seemed to be a step faster than everyone else when they came into the game fresh. Plus it seemed Marlon was taking notes before he entered the game when he came off the bench. Like he knew exactly how he would attack defenses by watching it unfold on the bench before entering game.

Next yr he will be stronger, faster and more experienced. We may forget all about BJax before the season is over. We need to keep him healthy and happy.
