It's official...Big 12 Championship game in Dallas through 2013

Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe made official what has already been reported Friday when he said the plan is to continue to play the Big 12 Championship football game in Cowyboys Stadium through at least 2013.

Beebe disputed the idea Cowboys Stadium was becoming an anchor site for the game.

"We have not decided to anchor the championship games," Beebe said. "We have extended them."

Beebe also announced future planned sites for the conference basketball and baseball tournaments.

The conference board authorized the men's basketball tournament to be held in Kansas City through 2014. The women's tournament is set to be held in K.C. through 2013.

The baseball tournament is to be in Oklahoma City through 2014.

This is per Brian Christopherson.

Not really expansion news, or 'new' news really, but it still takes into NU's account what they don't like about the B 12.

Great, now the well heeled TX businessmen that actually own all the tickets in Jerry's World can make even more money scalping their tickets to CFB's great unwashed.................gotta love capitalism! :thumbs

I can see why they would want to go to Jerryworld as it is a brand new, very nice stadium from what i've seen on tv. But what I don't understand is since we have 4 NFL teams in the Big 12 area that we don't have it a rotating championship. Granted Denver, Kansas City and St Louis their stadiums arn't as new but they are usuable.

because Texas runs the Big 12...whatever they say goes

The argument is that we have the 8th wonder of the world, the most overly lavish and opulent athletic facility on the planet, so why not use it to boost the Big XII?

"My thoughts exactly, gentlemen," says Texas.

And of course they want that. They get to play their game on their field in their conference. Everything happens or doesn't happen according to how Texas wants it. I hope the Pac-10 takes them, and rots from the inside like the Big 12 is now almost certainly destined to do.

Unless, of course, either a) the Big 12 implodes or b ) the world ends on Dec 23, 2012

I'm sure Texas can handle that. They ruined South West Conference, Big 12 Conference. So i'm sure they can ruin the Pac 10 and destroy the world 12/23/2012

Current word appears to be that if Neb bolts the feeding-frenzy would start. But we're still looking at ultimatums and the CCG staying a horn homegame. Fail Beebe, you should be giving Neb a reason to stay rather than hoping we'll get scared by "leaked" propaganda saying we could get left holding the bag and weak demands for commitment.

Come on guys.....we want Texas. We want their heads on a pike. We want to go down to Cowboys Stadium on a yearly basis and beat the crap out of Texas....or whatever other loser limps out of the South Division.

Listen to this....from 1985 to 2000, Michigan beat Ohio State 12 times, lost to them three times and tied them once. The conventional wisdom was that Michigan was just a better program than Ohio State. Along came some guy from Youngstown, Jim Tressel. He said his first priority was to beat the living daylights out of Michigan....and Ohio State's record since then...8-1, not bad.

Conventional thinking right now is that Texas and Oklahoma own the Big 12.

Time for another guy from Youngstown to upset conventional thought.....Bo is that man. GO BIG RED
