It's Tuesday, which means...

Hypothetically, I see a Bowl Game (meaning some city's Chamber of Commerce) needing a 5-win team (particularly one that just happens to have some great Story Lines and a fan base that travels extraordinarily well) to get an invite. (You heard it here first). Nebraska made a bowl game under this criteria just fairly recently, didn't they?

If there are not enough eligible teams to fill all the bowl slots, additional teams may be selected, according to the following priorities, which must be applied in descending order:[2]

  1. Teams which would have met the eligibility criteria if not for the fact that they had one win against an FCS team that didn't meet the scholarship requirement and no waiver was granted.[3]
  2. Teams which played 13 games during the regular season and finished with a 6-7 record.[3] (This criterion normally applies only to Hawaii and some of its home opponents.)
  3. Teams in their second year of reclassification from FCS to FBS football.[3]
  4. Teams with at least 5 wins and no more than 7 losses, in order of their Academic Progress Rates. <<DING DING DING!!!>>

Based on this hypothetical, I still don't see us beating Iowa this year.
5-7 then?

Right, but we have to be tops in APR or near tops...or have teams in front of us decline. or have it be a PAC12 school, which apparently said no more 5 win teams get to go.

We. Aren’t. On. The. Mother. Trucking. Team.

It doesn’t change one effing thing if we talk about the 5 national championships in a row Nebraska is going to win from 2019-2023.

To make matters worse (RE: your post), this topic is specifically for talking about crazy s#!t.
