Jamal Turner, WR/QB, Nebraska

Turner, from Arlington, Texas, came to Lincoln as a quarterback, but coaches quickly realized they needed to get him on the field even if he isn't taking snaps. Nebraska's spring game only reinforced that. Turner accounted for 228 yards on only seven touches. Turner began preseason camp splitting time at quarterback and receiver, but lately he has spent all his time with the receivers.

Nice to see Jamal get some props from the national media.

Wherever he ends up playing, I think he will do well. Has anyone else seen his highlight film from high school? pretty impressive in the open field. Just another reason I can't wait for the season to start. ONE WEEK!!

if TM happens to struggle this season, for whatever reason, Turner will be under center next year....write it down.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess he'll be involved on a bunch of WR option plays where he'll go in motion and become the pitch man.

I think you're probably right...been pretty quiet re: Turner in the fall, other than taking snaps, then not taking snaps at QB? Probably a good thing, keep him under the radar as much as possible if he is going to produce as much as most of us hope.

If Taylor Martinez struggles Turner will have to beat out Brion Carnes.
Turner isn't taking snaps any more at QB, or at least to finish out fall camp. Unless the floor drops out, don't look to see Jamal at QB any sooner than next season, if at all. This season should define things a bit.
