That was an awesome play and the crowd went insane over it. Even though a flag was thrown on the play that would've cost a TD in a real game, I still thought it was awesome to see in a scrimmage. I didn't even bother to see if Bo was chewing him out for doing that.

I agree. I think that the players should be allowed to celebrate however they want during the spring game. Let their hair down . . . have fun.

I just think it is funny that he tried to justify it by saying that he thought he had to dive in when Cody confronted him about it.

While i dont mind a little show boating in the spring game a move like that is not real smart. It could've went the Adrian Peterson way and broke his collar bone. If i were him i would've "popped the top" like i was drinking an adult beverage.

Bo told him "if you do that in a game ill tear your nuts off and feed them to you at the training table....now go celebrate with your teammates you stud."

I can almost guarantee that sometime next season a player will dive into the endzone, because he has to to score, and be flagged for it. I hate this rule so much.

I agree. I think that this rule will cost a team a game next season.

I'm pretty sure Turner is a bright enough kid to know that you can do that in a scrimmage but not a real game. Can you really blame a freshman who had an awesome play for doing it? Nahhhhh

I'm cool with it. I just real hope he doesn't get caught up in the moment if he has an awesome play as a freshman in the Big 10 title game. More than that I just wish that stupid, useless rule didn't exsist.

I just hope we can make it to the title game...

Now, about that somersault.
Pelini told players before the game: Don't celebrate after touchdowns. Just hand the ball to the official.

When Turner made the grab over the middle, split the secondary and dashed to the goal line, Cody Green started running down the sideline to congratulate him. Then the veteran quarterback saw the somersault.

“I was like, ‘Oh, no.'”

“As soon as we looked back,” Green said, “Coach Bo comes running. ... We just kind of looked back and said, ‘Good luck, freshman.'”

Even Jamal Turner couldn't escape this predicament.

I would've done The Dougie and finished it off by doing the worm all the way to the sideline. Good for Turner he had a good game and stepped it up. I bet the last thing the coaches said to those guys before they ran onto the field was "Have Fun out there" Well, Turner did!!
