Five-Star Recruit
also USC has our old WR coach, name slips my mind...but my response to this thread is, I dont care..
Oh boy, that's the truth. We could have saved ourselves a lot of pain.......If there's any merit what so ever to the rumors of both Solich and Bohl's departure, I highly doubt either moves up any ladders especially after the Bobby Petrino fiasco. Solich doesn't have much of a shot anyway because of his age. Part of me just wishes TO would have stepped into the AD job the moment he retired from coaching because things would probably look considerably different than they do today.
He is coaching at Utah St. He hitched his train to the wrong guy when he came to NU from Utah. He could have been with Urban Meyer at Florida. What happened with Bill Busch (sp)?
People can yell at me all they want for saying this, but if we hadn't made the stupid decision to fire Solich after the man was just beginning to make major changes to his offensive and defensive coaching staff, I think you would have seen a perenial top-20 Husker squad at least since then. We may not have gotten the flashy 5-star Harrison Becks of the world, but with Bo at D-coordinator and Marvin Sanders, as well as what looked like what was an evolution to more passing in the traditional Solich run-option offense, we would have looked much more like Kansas State in their heyday.Lastly, Frank is a great coach. And as Husker fans most of us at least respect the guy. I respect him for sure and I wasn't one who was calling for his head back in 2003. I thought he was safe after the CU win and was shocked to see a move. Still, in the here and now, Frank is doing OK in the MAC. He might win the title, but I don't see the Bobcats as being a BCS buster. They barely beat UMass.
