Jim Harbaugh might be available soon

That's why I think Jim is so successful. He's a FOOTBALL COACH.

I've had this theory a while now, and I know I've shared it on the board at some point. Sometimes I think that's what our current problem is. That Bo is maybe too much of a friend and not enough of a coach. Guys always talked about Osborne and his assistents being that father figure. Well, how many of you had fathers that never showed that tough love?
I very very very seriously doubt that.

Honestly, I never thought I would read something like that about Bo.

Sometimes it's interesting to read various people's opinions on the same subject.

It's just a theory though. When I see a team that plays as undisciplined as we do time and time again, I think sometimes maybe there is a lack of accountability, or lack of "fear of screwing up" because he is so much fun to be around. It's just a thought I've had and wondered if anyone else shared the same.

Interesting while I agree that it's bad to be too much of a friend, being a dictator is just as bad. You have to have a healthy balance, just like in everything else. There are times that are appropriate for both. The key is to understand the difference. For me in my coaching it kind of goes along with the trust factor. I'm gunna trust you till you give me reason to take it away. Which is also tied to my patience. My positional athletes know how much string they get, and have realized it's not good when they look or "test" for more.

If BP gets fired, I don't see Harbaugh being hired at Nebraska. Too many people think BP is a d!(k. Jim Harbaugh is a way bigger d!(k IMO. Good coach though.

Which is the point. If our football team were in a better place right now, with a conference championship or 3 under the belt and consistenly being in top 10 instead of flirting with the top 25, very few would even recognize Bo's behavior.

Winning cures everything. The were kiddin of course, but one day on SVP/Russillo they were speculatin how much Nick Saban could get away with from meth labs to bein in the mob.

The fact the as we speak, Harbaugh is regards as a much better coach than Bo, he would be welcomed with open arms, attitude aside. It's just the way it is.

In the eyes of the majority of sports fans all over the country, this statement holds true. If we were winning championships, there wouldn't be very many people in Husker Nation or any where else in the country that would be talking about Bo's demeanor and how he acts. Winning does cure everything.

Yes, I agree, winning does cure everything. I just don't see Harbaugh at Nebraska. I could see him at Michigan as I don't think Hoke survives to next season so there is that chance.

No no no. I dont either. No way in hell. 100% in agreement with that. It's just that attitude and demeanor are the least of the reasons.

I agree with you. I don't see him coming to Nebraska either.

If I had to choose one I'd easily choose Harbaugh. No question. At the same time I think he has a better chance of going back to his alma mater to coach than he does at Nebraska. Stranger things have happened though.
