Heisman Trophy Winner
His past three starts have been nothing short of stellar.

21 2/3's IP's, giving up only 3 earned runs.

Do you wave the innings cap now that he's getting hot?

Yeah, he really is, and it's about f'ing time.

Made a statistical error earlier, it's 2 earned runs over 21+ innings...

Last night was frustrating to watch, it was like watching the first half the season with him all over again. I just don't get it.

Pure and simple, this is all it boils down to...

He's thinking wayyyyyyy too much. He shouldn't shake off anything Jorgie gives him. Just let her rip.

He's too worried about trying to go deep into a ballgame.

He's completely psyching himself out.

I love the kid to death, but there are two VERY important things he needs to stop doing...

1) Thinking so much. He need to go out there, and just let her rip. He overthinks the fact that he needs to go 7+ innings, and let it happen.

2) Stop shaking off Posada. He's caught some pretty good pitchers, so he's got an idea of how to call a game.

He isn't the only one that shakes off Jorge. Jorge can call a good game, but sometimes I think he gets too carried away in calling pitches that he has trouble with. Not every batter has the same weakness. Joba is going to get 6 more starts this year, I want to see him go 6-7 innings in each one. I really would think by the end of the year he would progress and not just in spurts either. I want to see consistent performance.

They need to recall that Cervelli (sp) kid from the minors, that kid impressed the hell outta me...

I agree on Cervelli, nice player. Joba gets another shot tonight, should be really rested, gotta show progress.

There's one thing I can think of that may have an immeidate impact.

Send him down to double A. Sending a message like that worked for both Cano and Melky....

At this point I wouldn't be against it. I just don't know who the 4th pitcher for the playoffs will be. Maybe the extra long time between games that the networks are causing will allow Joe to go with just 3.

In a short series, I wouldn't worry about the 4th, at least not until the ALCS.

Now that the rosters have been expanded, I'd like to see Joba go with Cervelli behind the plate, just to see what would happen.
