Joe Dailey's play

I agree. The wind was probably a factor, but I would buy that more if he had been dead on in every other game. Our receivers have to be more agressive on routes and actually try to catch a ball that might not be perfectly thrown. It's a two way street in that respect.
At this point, it has nothing to do with the WCO. You have to be able to atleast throw the ball and catch the ball. No matter what offense. Don't tell me you didn't with the option, cause we did throw the ball in the option game.
This has everything to do with the WCO, in the in against MIzu the O looked dominating, and they were running the ball out of the I.. running missdirection plays and delay plays this is the first time I have seen the Power I this year and gasp we won go figure

Well that was last year. Our coaches encouraged the quarterbacks to run last year. This year is different. We don't have a backup capable of coming in if Dailey gets hurt. The option is not part of our offense anymore, no matter how much some of you want it to be. Callahan wants Dailey to stay in the pocket and make his progressions. It is all part of learning the new offense. Callahan would be stupid to give Dailey the authority to run out of the pocket everytime that he gets pressure. Dailey would never learn to read his progressions, he would just look at the primary reciever and then take off running. We would never execute the WCO if he did that.
Callahan is not the brightest crayon in the box, I agree that he wants to have dailey stay in the pocket but at some point you have to look at the stats... For the love of christ we are #1 in INT in the NCAA and untill the Mizu game when it was too windy to throw the ball the O didnt look good at all.... then we run it out of the power I and we walk right down the field strange isnt it.

What's going to happen next year when Beck is brought in?? You gotta think that Beck is being brought in here to play. I would rather have him in their and struggle than have Dailey in their struggling. I imagine the way it is going, there are going to be close to 10 freshman seeing action next year. Let them get their lumps and game experience early during the non conference schedule. Never waste time. I bet Beck gets a playbook the day he signs his LOI. He may not practice til fall, but it won't matter. BC is dying to show what he can do with his guys. I think there are freshman seeing time this year to show those incoming players that NU is not afraid to use the best player available, regardless of age.
I will be impressed if next year turns out any different than this year, say all you want about when Coack C gets his guys in... A good coach works with what he has and turns them into winners, last year 10-3, then coach C comes in and everyone is praying for a 6 win season... Nebraska has gone backwards this is in noway a rebuilding year.

I agree with you man.

What game were you watching dude? At what point did our running game look dominate? The offensive line is pretty bad. Erickson and Anderson stink up the joint every game. Man I wish Coach Cal would of come in and ran the great option attack we had been running since Crouch left. Ross is on the verge of 1000 yards in the pass happy offense we are running. Ross is 85 yard TD had nothing to do with being in the I formation. That run was all Ross and nothing else.

Do you watch the games? The coaches have the players in position to make plays they just aren't. Dropped passes, over/under thrown balls. Bad blocking. Hold the players accountable sometime. I guess that would mean you would actually have to admit the talent is average.

Simply asinine. Are you able to see a foot in front of you? If not, you might want to move the TV and monitor closer.

The rushing offense didn't dominate at all. No way in hell. The offense as a whole is still very anemic

Listen, no one ever said that some plays that we, along with EVERY OTHER dagnabit TEAM IN THE COUNTRY, run will work well when executed. That goes for any play, I don't care what offense. If the WHOLE WCO was working great at this point, we wouldn't see you come around here. Nevermind the fact that now it comes down to throwing and catching the damn ball, which any football team does at least twice a game.

Get a clue, seriously. You don't enjoy Husker football or any football, you loathe it.

I take it that you are a big fan of loosing, keep defending Callahan and his O, but please look at what Nebraska did last year and look at what they have this year, look at the teams that have beat nebraska, and look at the teams nebraska has beat.

Nebraska and this worthless Coaching Offense ( WCO ) we are not scoring, now with a great D you can get by with this, but Cosgrove has turned a great D into one of the worst in the NCAA... THis also has to do with Callahan throwing the ball more and keeping The D on the field more than the O, call control is key no matter what level of play your at and Nebraska is loosing this very important stat.

Once again a bunch of irrelevant crap.

This coaching staff and this offense and defense is here to stay at least for a few years. What we did last year has absolutely no bearing. AT ALL. So move on or move out. We all know how you feel about Husker football so do us all a favor and save it. Unless, of course, you want to actually come out from behind your "Voice from the Grandstand" position and talk FOOTBALL.

THERE ARE ENTIRELY TOO MANY VARIABLES TO BLAME ANY ONE THING. These players are playing for their 3rd coaching staff in three years. They have had no time to get in real sync with any coaching staff. That's just one. The whole thing is very very volatile right now IMO. Use dictionary.com if you need to know what volatile means.

You say what you want about Joe Dailey. That kid played his heart out yesterday. He made a bunch of good plays. He threw SEVERAL passes that were very catchable that were dropped, or hit the ground without the receiver laying out for the ball(Fluellen). He took off and ran a few times when everyone was covered and picked up some big yards. On a 3rd and 15 he picked up 13 to make it a short 4th and 2 to go for. He had a touchdown taken away from him by a bogus call from the refs. He made a few bad throws, and the one interception at the worst possible time. I was at the game yesterday and the game in Ames in 2002. VERY DIFFERENT. The Huskers showed heart in coming back yesterday. A Solich team that had no air attack would have gone into the fetal position and continue to take a beating. Joe Dailey may not be Matt Leinart or Aaron Rodgers, but he is all that Nebraska has right now and the kid is playing his a$$ off and getting better.

It's like a damn broken record. We had some good plays that I would have never thought Callahan would run (inside pitch; fb up the middle, etc.) and those plays returned some serious yards. Dailey is out. There is no way Callahan will get anywhere with Dailey at QB. Let another yound kid take his bumps next year and let's bounce back in 2006. Put Adams in the game. No spleen whatever, but his is pointless.

One positive note is that he audibled into a few plays that actually worked!

That INT was horrible. Looked like he was throwing to a spot rather than to a player.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. It seemed as if Callahan took the ball out of Dailey's hand once he threw the interception. The middle linebacker was reading his eyes the entire way. Maybe his problem is that he tries too hard, but I tend to agree, I don't think he will be playing much at the quarterback position next year.
