What, no Tim Tebow or Colt McCoy? Are you kidding me?? :sarcasm

I would not want my quarterback's arm to be made of gold. Flesh, muscle and bone are much more flexible and capable of feats needed to be accomplished by a quarterback, and plus if I had to pick a metal for his arm to be made out of it definitely wouldn't be one as soft as gold.

Or Ressing

Works out to be about 20% of starting QBs in NCAA division whatever-they-are-calling-it-this-year.

Didn't look it up but might be 40-50% of all returning starting QBs

Just did a quick spot check on the internet - these are all seniors!

So 100% of all returning starting senior QBs?

If so, what an honor :sarcasm :sarcasm :sarcasm

Is Ressing a Sr. this year, or is it a flaw in his character?

Thought I'd read somewhere that he sleeps on sidewalks outside the bars after closing time..Or was it someone getting Chocolate on his peanutbutter?..or peanutbutter in his chocolate?

Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award CriteriaDetermination of the Award will be based upon the on-field performance of the nominees, as well as their character. To be a Golden Arm Award Winner, these quarterbacks must demonstrate good citizenship off the field, and do their best to maintain the ideals of good character, morals, and values that Johnny Unitas upheld in his lifetime and career.

To be eligible for this Award, all candidates MUST be completing their college eligibility this season to be eligible for The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. Candidates are judged upon character, citizenship, scholastic achievement, leadership qualities, and athletic accomplishments. They MUST also preserve a positive public image above reproach by avoiding legal issues or other types of scandal.
Don't tell me Colt isn't a Sr.

Colt is a Jr.

Nice research on the qualifications for the award. I said before IF that was the only qualification, it was a joke, but now that I am enlightened as to the off-the-field requirements, I will say that this is good for Joe.

But shouldn't we expect, like Bo says, that college athletes show "character, citizenship, scholastic achievement, leadership qualities" anyway as part of the "job requirement"?

And in light of the off-the-field requirements PLEASE don't tell me any Miami Hurricane QBs won the award. :thumbs

If anybody other than Tim Tebow wins it the year after next, then the entire thing is absurd and not worth my attention.

Rumor is, they are in the making of a Golden "Jump Pass" Award.

So far Tebow is the only candidate.
