Josh Freeman...to KSU

I for some reason am not upset by this at all. In looking at his High School year he had a fine season but it just seems like something is mising. How many highly touted H.S. or College quaterbacks blow it at the next level? Certainly more than make it. I wish him all the luck in the world but I honestly do not see him succeeding. As a quaterback you better have a ton of confidence and ability to get your whole team behind you. I can't speak on his leadership but it certainly seems that the confidence criteria is lacking. I'd rather have a 2* Zach Taylor that will develop and knows what hard work is. Good luck Josh and try not to get snot bubbles on our linebackers!!!

Are there other examples of this happening with this large and highly touted of a recruit?
This reminds me a lot of Ryan Perrriloux last year. Texas had his verbal commitment forever, then last minute he switched to LSU where Les Miles had just taken over. The first thing I thought of when I heard Freeman was talking to Prince was this is a Ryan Perriloux situation and we are in trouble.

Oh well, I always thought the guy seemed more like he belonged on American Idol than Memorial Stadium. I could never see this guy take the hits that Zac takes every week. He just seems too soft for my style of QB. I'll take a Taylor or Beck any day!

No big loss.
That funny. The kid has 7 pages of comments, and everyone was drooling over his committment.

I guess he wasnt that good after all :dumdum

Josh, karma is a b**** my friend. You may think "HA HA, I pulled one over on those coaches and got what I wanted." But in the end, is it really worth it?
Agreed :thumbs billy c, see Joe Dailey.

its amazing what a new uniform does to your perspective of a guy. after sleeping on it i realized its not so bad. its just karma on us. we stole chris brooks who didnt see the field this year. we stole lydon murtha who thankfully helped revive our offensive line. what comes around goes around.

We finally saw the true colors of Freeman. A 5 yr old brain in a 25 yr old body. He didn't have enough confidence in his own ability to beat Beck for the QB job. He's been handed the KSU job without taking a snap. He can sit at home with his daddy in 5 yrs and tell his friends about the time he almost went to NU if anyone wants to listen. We don't need players that don't want to be here or can't stand a little competition.

I'm no recruiting expert but is it wrong to see this as another scholly open for a DB,WR,etc?

also, while it would've been nice to have another QB already recruited, its not an emergency as we're covered at QB for next year and JF would have redshirted anyway. so am i way off base thinking that its not tragic if they may have to wait till next year's QB class?

OL WR and DB seemed like more immediate NEEDS that couldn't wait.

Evridge switching i can understand: different coaches different offense, etc. but if Freeman is this afraid of competition, I'll be rooting even more for Evridge to beat him out the next few years!

In a way this reminds me of another guy, other than Ryan P. with Texas. remember Odell James? A very highly touted NU commit who jumped ship to Baylor. he bragged that he'd lead Baylor over Nebraska as a Bear QB but he barely saw time under center and ended up switching to safety. at the time, his decommit seemed like a huge letdown as he was being billed as the "next Frazier".

Did the words "not talented" come out of my mouth? It's not a big loss because no 1 player is bigger then the program and if we had to look at this years recruiting class, he doesn't make or break it. People are forgetting we have a x-mas present from last year by the name of Harrison Beck who will be a damn fine QB. Freeman was in Lincoln last week checking out Beck and if he decided to decommit and commit to KSU, what does that tell you about Freeman's ability to beat out Beck? The kid realized he wasn't going to beat him out and that shows me Beck is better then him.

Is Freeman talented? Yes for a high school kid but he has yet to step on the field in a college game.

No big loss. Mckeon, Ruud, Octavien, Barry Turner, Steve Allen will all lay a licking on him and make sure he knows he picked the wrong side to pass against. The blackshirts will make their presence known 1 way or another. He has to face us 4 times and we will get out shots in, you can guarantee that Callahan will give Coz the green light to punish him for that, plus the coward move of texting "don't call us we aren't coming"
oh yeah......i really want old Josh to start next year in the worst way......i can tell you right now if there is anyway in hell i can get a ticket for the KSU game, I WILL BE THERE......i don't know about anyone else, but i will NOT forget this! i hope Coz sends everyone and scares the sh#t out of this kid!

I'm there too, no matter what I will find tickets...which it is easy in manhattan...can't wait to see us lay the smackdown on him...it will be quite amusing to see.

Did Ron Prince really sing this song while in the home of Josh Freeman? You be the judge. Courtesy of Unsportsmanlike Conduct on 1620 The Zone.

Dude that is horrible. :)

Im gonna say no, but "Purple Rain" might be more believable. After that Im sure Prince balled him up in the driveway and then served him some pancakes. Pancakes.
