Basically we need this guy, im not too sure about the hype but is he an overall better athlete than Bowman or a better corner? cause rivals said he played linebacker in HS which would mean athlete. We need more pure athletes that can play several spots. (AKA Devon Hester, Chris Gamble, Teddy Ginn)

Just heard that Jones will be committing to the Husker staff this morning. There's also a unconfirmed report that Brandon Johnson will be committing as well.

I was reading on another board that someone was asking about who a HUGE guy wearing a blue jersey was. I guess he is a potential recruit. Anyone know who this may be?

Nebraska apparently has picked up verbal commitments from three junior college football players, each of whom visited Lincoln this weekend.

Andre Jones, a cornerback from Fresno (Calif.) City College, this morning confirmed via cell phone that he and teammate Steve Allen committed to the Huskers. The 6-foot, 192-pound Jones picked NU over offers from Southern Cal, Arkansas, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, Washington and Washington State.

Thousands of fans chanted his name at Saturday’s game against Tech, Jones said.

“It was the most amazing thing,” he said. “Those fans are ridiculous.”

Allen is a 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker who had received offers from Nebraska and Central Florida.

Meanwhile, Rivals.com confirmed that Nebraska also received a commitment from 6-3, 312-pound defensive tackle Brandon Johnson of Compton (Calif.) Community College, the same school that produced Ola Dagunduro.

Johnson also had an offer from Arizona and said last week he was receiving strong interest from Minnesota, Marshall, Colorado and Oregon.

Rivals had some film on him. He's very quick, "light on his feet" if you want to say, very promising "athlete", now we'll see how long it takes him to pick up the system.

This is what I'm talking about!

If Bowman can continue to develop, if Leon Jackson is ready to play FS, and Jones comes in and contributes next year, we've got some stud DBs.

Speed kills, baby!
