JUCO Steve Allen

the more i think about it the more it does not make sense. he attended a kansas juco then went to california. didnt spain attend a kansas juco and didnt qualify for NU then he attended Southeast CC and is now a Husker?

 
I wonder if it is because he played football for a kansas Juco and then for fresno. Spain only played for the Juco in cali and then went to southeast cc for academics only.

 
How long do they need to determine something like this? This might as well be known to eveyone months ago.

just one of the many probs you face when you try to recruit JUCOs...obviously Taylor was the exception, but many (not all) of the others we have gone after have been a waste of time and effort.......they weren't in JUCO's for nothing.....

What is the limit on JUCOs you can attend? Thunder Collins attended multiple before he came to Nebraska, maybe 3 or 4.

Allen was kind of a twofer with Jones. Now I hope Jones qualifies.

 
Looks like Andre Jones qualified, but Steve Allen did not. I apologize if this has already been posted. Does anyone know the specifics?

 
I have heard it said many times that they are glad that its Allen and not Jones. I agree with that but I am upset about losing Allen. I watched tape of him and even though the LB core is strong. YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH QUALITY DEPTH AT LB! This sucks.

 
His coach said not to write him off yet. From the Journal Star:

* Tony Caviglia, head coach at Fresno City (Calif.) College, dismissed as premature Internet reports that former Rams linebacker Steve Allen, a member of the Huskers’ class of 2006, would be academically ineligible for the coming season.

“He’s got until the end of the summer semester,” Caviglia said. “He’s in school now, and he’s going to try his best to pass his classes.”

 
And by "finished", Im asuming you mean he did not pass???? I really hope he did pass but if not, good luck in the juco ranks.

It's hard to believe an athlete of these guys calaber can not get the help needed to pass. It's there, they just have to seek it out and take advatage of it. It's not like it is there ENTIRE future or anything. :sarcasm
