This morning Nebraska Athletic Director Tom Osborne announced that Nebraska would break out their new uniforms for today's game. Osborne said, "I think the fans will like our new uniforms. They are purple, with some black and gold trim. We modified the 'N' on the helmet to look more like a 'W' for the occasion, to welcome our visitors from the Northwest. We will also call the Nebraska team the 'Huskies' today, because it's so gosh darn close to 'Huskers'."
When the media asked Osborne if the Husker players would be able to tell the difference between themselves and Washington, Osborne said he would 'look into that'.
Five minutes later, it was announced by the University of Nebraska that the Huskers would 'go back' to wearing red and white uniforms. The expected attendance of today's game is expected to only exceed 40,000, as an estimated 45,000 tickets were burned in the 10 minutes between the two announcements.
