I agree with your earlier post about Saban at Texas. He would not only have more money then anyone at his disposal but then he could cherry pick any recruit from the state along with his ties to Florida and Georgia. It would be a dangerous combo.Texas has over 1 billion dollars in willed donations to the University. No one even comes close. Mac Daddy is responsible for it they claim, as for the comment, Mac will leave when he is ready.
10 million a year has been linked to Saben supposedly. They claim they would pay it. I have no idea if it is true on nor, but if Texas decided to go get Saben, they would have him on the financial side of it for sure.
I do and it has nothing to do with the money. It has everything to do with ego and wanting to say he can turn any team with good athletes into a winner. Sure he will take the money, but it is more about showing that he can do it again.Okay I know the wrath is coming, but going to say it anyway. I follow Bama somewhat, like how Saben has changed the program around, hopefully legally. But listening to him, I truly believe he loves college football, and I do not think he would take the job because of it. He would realize a totally unfair advantage, would feel his accomplishments would be more about the money than what he taught. Doing things right seem to be what he is about.
I just do not see him taking that job.
I heard someone on sports talk radio the other day say that Dodds was supposed to retire, Mac was supposed to move to AD and Muschamp was supposed to coach but Dodds decided not to retire and pooch screwed the whole thing BTW.I think he would go just because it would be a challenge for him. There has been talk of Saben at Texas, Mac upstairs. And Saben would go, he knows he could turn it around, but would he want to. He is selling his lake front home for something like 6 million dollars just because they don't go there much anymore. He is set for life. Does he need the frustration of starting over again. Saben at Texas would end college football as we know it. All that talent fighting to be coached by Saben. Not a pretty thought.
You kinda missed what I was saying. I think he would look at it as an unfair advantage. Just a gut feeling, I truly hope we never find out.
I understood what you were saying. I don't think Nick Sabin is that noble. He can recruit just as well at Alabama as he can at Texas. I think he would do it differently though. I think you would see a lot less early offers from Texas if Sabin was there. You kinda missed what I was saying. I think he would look at it as an unfair advantage. Just a gut feeling, I truly hope we never find out.
