Walk-on
I think this game is going to be a lot tougher than the average husker fan might think. Our front four were clearly getting blown back 2 or 3 yards every play against a SDSU team that we obviously didn't have any respect for. We were exposed defensively and most average to good running teams will probably be able to move the ball on us if we don't fix this problem. I don't think we should have a problem moving the ball on k-state. If we can find someone who can complete a pass to a wide open receiver we should be fine on 3rd down. I think we need to try running the ball to the outside with some sweeps and tosses. Haven't seen much of that called from watson this year. Seems to be straight up the gut or read option. Every time we passed against SDSU there was someone open and we were able to connect a few times but many were missed. I think it's back to the basics for the k-state game and we have to win the battle in the trenches if we want to survive this one. I think the huskers take a close one from the wildcats next Thursday night on ESPN, 27 - 21.
