Kansas State recruiting Story

New Jersey high school running back Adonis Thomas learned what has to be the toughest lesson about making an early oral commitment. Thomas agreed months ago to play for Kansas State. So why did he sign Wednesday with Toledo instead? What made it tough for Thomas, according to his high school coach, Altarik White, was when K-State informed Thomas he was no longer part of its plans ? telling him so late in the process. "They called last Friday," White said. "

I guess they traded up at the last minute. The least they could have done is told him sooner if they knew. Classless act.

I like reading what ksu fans have to say about their recruiting classes. Even though they are horrible, they are in heaven and just love the class they get every year. It doesn't take much to satisfy that bunch.

Trying to think objective here without any spin against KSU, the Prince of Manhatten seems to be a questionable character. I would be critical of any coach, even Callahan, to decommit a H.C. player at the last moment -- unless there is a legal issue we don't know about -- and take away some of his other school options. Not good business. If there is a legal issue, then I take back what I said.

I hope the Prince of Lincoln shows much more character as a NU player and student.

on the bright side if you want to look at it

this kid just doesnt know what a blessing this will turn out to be for him. now he does have to go around the rest of his life saying that he got his education and KSU

Well it beats telling a kid to pay his own way for a year and promising him that there would be a scholarship waiting for him the next year. Then you give that scholarship to another player and tell the first kid that you would be better off looking for a new place to play, costing him a couple of years of his eligibility.

Good luck, Brian.

I don't know who you are refering to as Hillenbrand was never promised a scholarship. We told him if he worked hard and earned it, he would have one waiting.
