Keep Riley? ND kept Brian Kelly

If you can get Frost do it but if you can't don't get rid of Riley because he's bringing in good talent maybe hire a top notch OC that's young and have him take over like Oklahoma did.

20 years? Did an average team:

  • go undefeated and win the MNC
  • finish #2 in the nation
  • play in the MNC game
  • win 9 games 7 years in a row
We are average now because we hired an average coach. It time for that to change.

Maybe not want you guys want at Nebraska but the reality is whoever is coach next year will have a better team because of all the depth they will have from this year.

Are relatives of the HC allowed to post here? When Bo was fired, not a single person on this board mentioned MR as a candidate. You know why? Because he has been average to bad his entire career. When he was hired, many on this board predicted exactly what has happened despite being guaranteed that MR was here to immediately win championships.

 
Great.  Another thread about why and how we should keep this goof as our HC one more year.  3rd year, ND was playing for a title.  3rd year ND was undefeated and playing for a National title.  Year 3, we are 4-4 and with some luck, we might make a bowl game at 6-6.  Where is the comparison?

Riley is not Kelly-i.e., he`s nvr won anything.  Plus he doesnt have ND  talent to work with, and we`ve been scratching out crappy wins to our crappy 3rd tier peers(like the other nite) since he got here, plus Frost is the homerun hire/hot commodity as we speak that we absolutely cannot miss out on.

No, fire Riley, make the nitemare stop.  

 
Comparing Mike Riley to Brian Kelly is like comparing a Scooter to a Ferrari. MR is waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy over his head. I always wonder if he is actually coaching during the week. I bet he is reading bedtime stories to our players. Two weeks of practice definitely showed this past Saturday.

I really don't see losing many recruits if Frosty comes home. Wouldn't you want to play for the best young up and coming coach in college football?  I know I would. 

 
I agree, tmfr15. But the die was cast when Riley's loss to NIU got his AD fired. The Riley era is sunk.

It does suck, but let's get some guys in here that can teach players to run, catch, block, and tackle. I'm tired of watching s#!tty football.
