Keller Says Huskers Have To 'Be Men, Move On'

I do not think Keller is way overrated by any means. He is also one of the few that seems to show up on Saturdays ready to play. Additionally, he is trying to take responsibility for the TEAMs failures. I wish some of our coaches would man up like that.

Keller is one of the few players who understands what Nebraska football is all about. He shows emotion both on the field and at the interview booth after the games. He may feel responsible, but there are so many others who need Sam's motivation and energy!

In my opinion, the only other player to show this was Zac Bowman when he turned in his Blackshirt as a visible statement that he was not living up to the tradition of the Blackshirt defense.

Both Zac and Sam transferred into the program... Where are the others who were recruited in? Or born and raised in Nebraska? I won't mention names of players, but I have to wonder why more don't show the fire of their emotions.

Keller stepping up and saying that shows that he is a true leader. I don't always agree with his decision making or throws, but he has been constant in his maturity. Callahan better figure out what the problem is with defense and get these kids to play with some fire.

It is interestin that Bowman and Keller are both transfers. It really seems like a great deal of of Nebraska's best players are transfers. It would almost seem like Callahan is not developing the talent he is recruiting. These transfer guys are maturing and being developed somewhere else and transferring in. This again points to it being a coaching problem.

I gotta say I have a lot of respect for Keller. If the poor guy had an O-line to block for him and a defense to put the ball in his hands, we'd be singing a merrier tune this season. As it is, I wish he wouldn't blame himself, as he's one of the few bright spots left on this unholy mass of death.

Yeah, I'm happy with Keller. He loves football. He's a great competitor. He shows more than anyone that he really wants to be on that field. I did not expect so much heart into the program and its fans from a one year transfer. He's over the halfway mark for breaking Taylor's records, and its halfway through the season. I dont remember so many people being that hard on Taylor. Keller is the least of our worries right now, In my humble opinion.

You know who I think got screwed? Koetter. Look at how Arizona State is doing this year. I think they kept the right guy. However, I'm glad we did get Keller. He's one of the very few bright spots out there busting his a$$ to make this so called team better.

I agree, and with Husker X's before. Keller is fighting a double-edged sword. His O-line isn't giving him much time to throw or much help on the running game, so NU is forced to throw. Then the receivers start their usual dropped-pass parade, Keller doesn't have much time to look off all the receivers, and there ya go.

I seriously did not just read Callahan say yet again that "everything is fine, we can still win the North". As if that will solve everything and means everything in the world yet again.

I may puke.

Please come back Turner Gill.

Keller is WAY OVERRATED talent wise.
I think Keller would be a Heisman candidate if he was on a good team. I was not a fan of Keller's after seeing him in 05 against us at ASU, but I am a big fan of his now. This kid is more than a winner in my book, he is a champion. He has won me over with what he has done on the field against overwhelming odds. Add the class he has shown off the field, I don't see how you can even think that must less say it. But, I guess you have your reasons. Quarterbacks always get a large measure of the blame when things go wrong and the credit when things go right. JD Booty is getting a lot of heat at USC right now, but a lot of it is not his fault. I like JD Booty a lot, but I would trade him for Keller. I can't believe I just said that!

People need to get off Kellers a$$ yes he has thrown a lot of interceptions but look at how many dropped passes there has been and the O l-ne is not helping him either.

Sam is the bright spot right now and all the negitive sh#t about Keller is uncalled for when he is the only one maning up and accepting more than his share of the blame.

There are coaches at NU that need tar and feathered beginning with that f#*k stick coz
