Kenny Wilson Rumor

If anyone transferred from our backfield I can see it being him from him getting the smallest piece of work in several weeks in a row.

Lets hope not. I really want to see him play more next year. I haven't heard anything like that on campus but its always possible. Lets not worry about that yet, lets take down Missouri first.

Who/What is the source?

If any (or all) of the backs transfer, I wish them the best. They need to do what's best for them. A four back semi-rotation justifies it. If I'm a part time college player wanting to go to the next level, I'd consider it. But being from Omaha, I'd stick it out at UNL naturally.

NFL is mostly about the stupid combines anyway.

= Somewhere in this wonderful and insightful board has a write up about Callahan and the Raiders, his final season, where those guys lead the league in rushing with a four back committee. The fourth back in that rotation is our RB coach Randy Jordan. Hmmm.. anyways.

did he really expect to come in and take over right away. not playing in the system and having to learn the playbook, blocking assingments, ect ect ect.

and if he transfers to another school he will have to learn that system all over again. he would have to go to 1-AA school or he looses a year of eligibility.

i wouldnt do it, cant look good to the NFL scouts IMO

Great points. He had to know coming in that we were stacked at RB. Stay Kenny, its in your best interest.

This is bad news. Kenny is as good as they come, he just isn't getting the opportunity to succeed. There are only so many snaps to go around. Plus between Jackson and Lucky they have over 30 receptions, I don't think Wilson has any at all. I hope he sticks around but I'm sure he does see the two running backs coming in next season not to mention Collins in 08.

I hope he stays. Teams can go through running backs rather quickly.

Perhaps if Kenny wanted the starting job bad enough he could have gotten his sh#t together and graduated from Butler at Semester and had all spring to learn and get acclimated. If he wants to leave, go ahead, look no further beyond the man in the mirror for a lost opportunity.

I can't really say I would blame the guy if he wanted to transfer but like was already mentioned, had he been in spring drills he might have seen more playing time this year.

I sure hope this isn't true. He is just a raw player right now. With his speed and power, he could develop into a great player.

I heard this second hand from someone that talked to an assistant coach in Liberal. This coach received a phone call from KW after the Texas game.

What I heard is that he will transfer to a lower division school

Who knows if it's true or not, but if it is true I can't say that I blame him. With his talent he should be playing more.
