Kevin Dixon

Becuase it is a waste of time. There are way too many "high caliber" recruits that flop like a terd in the toilet (Harrison Beck, Kevin Dixon, there's so many to even name) and so many 2 or 3 stars that end up being stars. Yes recruiting is essential obviously, but the ranking of players and classes is a bunch of crap. JMO, not actually tryin to be an a$$ this time. I'm just not the one that spends all off season saying "he's gonna be a hell of a player" but rather waits till the season starts to say " he has turned out to be a hell of a player"

*DISCLAIMER* This statement does not intend to imply that all high caliber recruits flop and all 2-3 star recruits end up being stars, cuz I know some idiots will try to turn this statement to that.
So it's a waste of time to follow a highly ranked football team that I followed very closely because of the possibility that they might crap the bed and not live up to its potential?
exactly!!!!

these guys complain about following...........YET THEY STILL FOLLOW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
don't you know, husker football is our addiction, that is why we are here reading and posting. i spend more time on this site than on my law school homework (i wish i was joking). so far there has not been any husker-law classes, but one can hope.

Yeah I remember when we got him. I was pumped also. Man this line could have been amazing if he would have stayed. Oh well

I can respect that...
Me too.

I follow recruiting because it's fun to dream...but that's perfectly reasonable too.

I think as it relate to high prospects becoming bust. The number are skewed to the fact that there are alot more 2 and 3 star athletes than there are 4 and 5 stars. If you have 500 2 and 3 star players and 50% of them are successful compared to 100 4 and 5 star players with the same number becoming a great sucess.

Long story short for ever 1 4 or 5 stair bust there are 5 or more 2 or 3 stair that got rides to be practice, special teams, or backup players.

It funny to me everyyear at this point how poeple feel we should go after countless 2 and 3 stair guys yet when people bring up a lower ranked the prospect is all but dismissed based on his speed, size, or the competition he played.

You can't NOT follow it, though. I don't "follow" Missouri football, but they're such a part of the conversation of the Big XII that I know a bunch about them.

Yes, it's reasonable. It's not something I get into because of the aforementioned boom of nobodies/bust of blue-chippers we see far too much, but I don't begrudge anyone their interest in recruiting. It's cool.

Sometimes it's hard to admit but it really all boils down to the coaches, what their needs may be, how a player fits into the program, what is their work ethic or how they do in school. So much plays into it. And here we sit as fans lapping up every scrap we can get. One thing you can say..... we are a passionate bunch!!!

If he would have stayed he would have graduated last year. So he wouldnt have been on this years team

Haha thought I saw Kevin Dixon in the game. Funny story, the first time I met Kevin Dixon(he was friends with my roommate Shukree Barfield former Huskers DT) he talked to me for about an hour and a half about places to hide marijuana in a dorm room. Not kidding. Great guy, I'm happy he finally found the right place for him. His claim to fame was that he looks like T-Pain. He would always ask anyone he met if they thought he looked like T-Pain. I'm getting all nostalgic now :cheers

All you have to do is go into each year knowing or expecting 50-75% of the recruiting class will never beome a regular starter and contributor.

You're making it sound like Kevin left on his own accord. Bo kicked him off the team.
Yeah I know. From what I have heard he deserved to be too. Nice to hear that he turned his life around though.
