Khiry Cooper situation looking good for NU
I have to say at this point I'd be surprised if Khiry Cooper gets scooped away from the Huskers. The Angels have until Friday to sign him.
Talking to his high school baseball coach yesterday, Rodney Traweek seemed to think all indications point to Cooper staying put.
The wide receiver from Shreveport is one true freshman who might be on the field this fall, at least on special teams. He's been returning some punts in practice.

Andy Christensen's trial is slated to start Aug. 25 and last more than a week, which would take it past NU's season opener. The offensive lineman is not listed on the Husker roster in the football media guide.

Interesting talking to junior safety Major Culbert after Monday's practices. He's a very perceptive guy and is definitely looking forward to a new season. You can tell he just can't wait until Aug. 30.
Among other things, Culbert is excited about contributing on special teams.
"I'm going to be involved, really involved," he said. "I think special teams is for special players and I think I'm one of those special players ... I've always been a special-teamer, from Pop Warner to high school to college. I'm going to be on kickoffs, whatever they want me at."
