Pat Smith from Western Illinois, sounds like he would be on the Russell Wilson plan and would be able to play right away, 10/10 last year punted too, also a finalist for the Fred Mitchell award for outstanding kicker at that level

According to this, he's a junior right now. So he's got 1 year left of eligibility?

So how do these situations come about? Do the husker coaches find a gem at a small school and say "hey nebraska would love to have you" or do these players express there interests first?
