Wow this Gary Java guy is driving me nuts. He doesn't let anyone talk! I'm tired of him saying how great we will be. He doesn't ever admit we are struggling right now. Last year I used to look forward to the call in show. Now if anyone says one semi-negative thing about the team they either get cut off the line or Java yells at them and says we will be good. It's just annoying. One guy called in twice this show and told him they cut him off! It was freaking hillarious! :lol: I did learn one thing from the show though. The bowls that had representatives at the game were the Champ's Sports Bowl, the Houston Bowl, and the Alamo Bowl. The Independence Bowl was not mentioned.
Anyhoo...here are my thoughts on the game:
First of all I thought we played fairly good. There were many areas to improve upon, but overall I was glad to see us get the W. Good to see the seniors win their final home game! 'Bout time we beat those frickin' Wildcats. The best news is that we're goin' bowlin'!
The worst part of the game was Taylor getting hurt. I hope he is ok and is able to play against Colorado. I guess it won't matter who starts at QB for that game because I don't really seeing us winning anyways but ya never know. I wasn't too impressed with Beck's decision making, but he is a freshman so I guess that's the main reason he didn't play very well. On the interception he threw, it sounded like he had room to run according to the radio guys. Sucks that he lost a year just to play in this game. I guess he'll play in more if Taylor can't go next game.
Sam Koch turned in another great day. He deserves to win the Ray Guy award. What a great play by him to get the bad snap and get the kick off.
The O-Line had another shaky performance. Allowing two safeties wasn't the greatest thing ever. It sounded like there was a little improvement however. Glad to hear about Lydon Murtha throwing a good block on one of the touchdowns.
Good job Congdon on the game winner! Glad our extra point/field goal team can execute. This game shows how important that is. Really felt sorry for KSU's botched attempts. :sarcasm
Marlon Lucky didn't have a very great game. I think he started to think he can get 30 yards a return every time. That was proven wrong. I still want to see him break one all the way...again...so it counts. He definitely has the ability.
Defensively we were lackluster in tackling again. I wonder how many yards they got after 1st contact. One of their backs, can't remember which one, had a few guys on him and carried them for about 20 yards towards the beginning of the game. That was absolutely nuts! Zack Bowman got beat on one play by at least ten yards. That guy has been disappointing...but he has made a few great plays.
Play calling seemed ok this game. I can only recall one 3rd and 1 where we passed it. Pass was incomplete, but if I remember right, there was pass interference on them. Glad to see him leave in Cory Ross on the goal line and let him score. I'm glad he got a touchdown on senior day.
All those reviews got very annoying. Most of them seemed basically like coach's challenges. Bill Snyder was starting to annoy me. Wait, I mean not starting to annoy me, but annoy me even more. Good to see that NONE of the reviews went his way.
Glad we got the W. I hope we beat CU. I hope we win our bowl game. 8-4 doesn't sound too bad at all. I don't see us getting to 8-4 though. The best I see us doing is 7-5.

Yep it is! I am 3 hours from SA so you bet I will be asking Santa for tickets to the game if we go there!

Same situation for me. Except one hour. It would be fantastic if we got the Alamo Bowl... I wanna see a whoopin just like the Northwestern Game.

If you picked up today's copy of the Lincoln Journal Star, you see the bowl projections in the Husker Extra section. It says who we will potentially face in those bowls.
Houston Bowl - Texas Christian, Brigham Young, Navy, Houston.
Champs Sports Bowl - Florida State, Clemson, Maryland, Boston College.
Independence Bowl - South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt.
Alamo Bowl - Michigan, Wisconsin.
After seeing our potential opponents I would like to go to the Houston Bowl. It would be the best chance of getting a win. God help us if we have to play FSU or Clemson. How badly I want to play Steve Spurrier and beat him again. I don't think we would be able to with our team, but I know we all would like to see it. I don't think we could beat Tennessee either. Michigan and Wisconsin would probably beat us also. The team I would most like to face would be South Carolina. I HATE STEVE SPURRIER!!!

might have wanted to post that in the thread in which we are discussing the bowl possibilities...
