Kudos to the Husker Fans!

Howdy Huskers!

When I got a call from my Longhorn cousin last Tuesday stating that he had 2 40 yardline tickets to the game, well even an Aggie can see that it was too good to miss! I was right too. We had excellent seats on the east side 3rd row balcony. Not only that we had great fans (Husker fans who were most of all football fans) all around us. What a great game, even though the Horns squeaked a win at the end, it was still one of the best contests I have seen in a while.

I also wanted to thank the Husker fans for making it and enjoyable visit. Every Husker I met was friendly, wanted to point out things about Lincoln and NU, and seemed more interested in talking the status of Big 12 football, than giving us hell from Texas. You even managed to give us a little winter time weather, which is something most of us don't see to often. I have been to every stadium in the Big 12 (with the exception of Boulder)and I can honestly say Lincoln is one of the best places to go. I still have to hold my beloved College Station as the best place to watch a game though!

Thanks for making it such a great trip! I hope those of you going to College Station in the next few weeks have a great time as well and get treated as well as I was in Lincoln. Make sure you get there early to watch the Corps of Cadets march in!

Just amazing to hear such good words all the time. Thanks Troy for taking the time to write this letter. Always good to hear that you were taken care of in Lincoln.

I am proud to be an alumni and fan.

Glad you had a great time! A group of us is going to be down in College Station for the game on 11/11. I can't wait to experience that atmosphere (and a Husker Victory of course - HA).

Besides arriving early to watch the cadets as you mentioned, what else would you suggest we try to experience?

We plan on checking out the Yell Practice (Friday night?), and also interested if anyone knows the best place to park and tailgate?

If you like the bar scene check out Northgate. They have a ton of great places to visit. The Dixie Chicken is an Aggie icon and I encourage everyone to take a stroll through there. If interested in historical stuff there are several musems on the campus. There is an outstanding firearms collection in the Memorial Students Center, the Corps Musem, and of course the Bonfire Memorial.

As for parking, I haven't been able to attend a game there in a couple of years so there is no telling how much that has changed since I have been there.

Enjoy your trip and be safe coming down.
