I think the problem with the emotion and intensity has to be the coaching. The thing that really struck me was the play calling in the 2nd half. Running the ball to eat up the clock. In my opinion, you weren't completely out of the game at that point. Mizzou has certainly blown bigger leads with less time. The players gotta feel like the coaches don't believe in them with that sort of play calling. Seems pretty similar to the play calling Callahan employed against USC last year.I feel bad that some of these kids choose NU now.

Leadership from some of our seniors has been a huge thing for us this season, and something that has been missing in previous. Guys like Rucker and Pig Brown (cheap shot aside) are just playing with so much heart that it elevates the play of the rest of the team.It's like no one even wanted to be out there. Especially on defense.
I don't know how you can't be excited to play in a game like that. I don't care who the coaches are. Isn't that what the players want? To play in big hype games like that? If not, they probably shouldn't be playing.
