My league is trade or straight cut your keeps, within the season-the ENTIRE ROSTER. The season ends, thats what youre starting next year with. There is one week after the Super Bowl to do standard release/waiver claims and one week before week 1 to make releases/acquire draft picks. You really have to plan ahead, its more like having an actual team. With the one week before the season, its nice because you get a real feel for what rookies are going to make an impact, and that puts a priority on making smart (or risky/lucky) moves over quantity, wholesale roster clearances you might see in some leagues. Makes trading a whole new, extremely technical treat, if thats your thing. Its not for everyone, buts its nice not doing the whole draft thing every year-you know where everyone stands after it wraps up. Its a pretty dedicated group of guys that Ive been with for 6 years, and the leagues been around 11.

So I got quite lucky to find someone to take him even last year, let alone now. Having to decide to cut him, to draft an unknown rookie, or some mid-level gap filler, would be something I'd rather not deal with heading into this year, especially now not knowing if he'll even end up anywhere.

I wish the Chiefs would pick him up, but he wants to go somewhere where he has a chance to win a super bowl.
