Lane Kiffin

Don't misunderstand me. I still want to see how B.C. does in the next two years. I think we need to give him more time. With that said, if for whatever reason B.C. doesn't work out -- and as I said I hope he does succeed here -- do you see Lane Kiffin possibly as the main target for H.C.?

As you already know, he was hired by Al "The Owner from Hell" Davis as the next Raider H.C. He has had a very successful career at USC as an assistant coach, OC with the WCO, and as a recruiter. Best of all, his father has very strong Husker ties. He must have heard numerous stories about the Huskers from Monte. He must have some degree of interest in what's going on in Huskerland. Could the Huskers be his ultimate H.C. job?

Again, I want to see B.C. succeed here. I do not want B.C. fired anytime soon. This thread is strictly intended for fun discussion, since the Husker season is over and we need to find something to talk about. :) So what are your thoughts on Lane Kiffin?

Yeah, lets get Callahan out of here and someone who knows how to coach an offense on the sidelines. I hope Callahan gets lucky, has a great season, beats some good teams and wins the Big 12 title and he goes back to the NFL. Then insert Lane Kiffin in as head coach and kick a$$ again.

I suspect that Kiffen will quickly learn that sucess is largely dictated by the discrepency in talent between teams. At USC he had greater talent. Put him in any other situation in which he doesn't have the upper-hand in talent, and see how he does. Until then, he's long on potential and short on results.

One of my good friends played with him in high school and is in close contact with him. He mentioned after being passed up for the Gophers job that that was his dream job. He is a MN guy and had contacts all over the state for recruiting.

If for some reason BC does not work out, I woudln't mind seeing him here. Look at the talent he brought into USC year after year and how he used those kids says a lot too.

Unless BC just blows his load this year and does nothing, I don't see him leaving anytime too soon.

I thought that some day a Coach with some sort of Nebraska ties would take over the program again. I hope that Bill C keeps moving this program in the right direction and stays till hes ready to retire. If he decides to leave some day then it would be nice to have a coach with some ties to the Huskers take over. Lane may some day get a chance, but if his dream job was Minn he might not be here long. I know his dad wanted the job when Bob D. retired and left because Tom O. got it. Just some thing to think about I guess. Getting another coach for 25 years would be great, but so would winning the lottery.

GBR!!!
