i am going to have to learn how to say "Go F*ck Yourself" in German
Gehen Sie fickt sich
thanks, for some reason, Rosette Stone doesnt teach you that one
How does that work anyways???
i dont know, have not tried it yet

but i think that i can get it free from the Army......but it might only be free if i take Arabic
Lets hope you never have a need for that again.

I've never been stationed overseas but Germany would have been one of my top choices if I had to choose (Italy and Australia would be on that list as well). I've worked with a lot of people who were stationed in Germany and they absolutely loved it!

It is quite expensive to live there now unless you do everything on base. With the exchange rate euro vs the dollar it would suck being on the economy there now. I would love to see the country though. I have only flown through Frankfurt on my way back and forth from here.

that is what the COLA (Cost Of Living Allowance) is for. For my Pay Grade/Time in Service/and number of dependants it will be about 1100 per month extra

I was stationed at Edwards back in the early 90's. It's so far out in the middle of nowhere, it was at one time one of only 2 stateside locations where folks received stateside COLA. Then just prior to my arriving there, they moved the "Welcome to Edwards AFB" sign out a couple of hundred yards to put it closer to Rosamond Cali so they could get rid of the COLA <_<

thats what the Army did with Ft Erwin a few years back. Moved the main gate closer to Barstow so they could save some money

Gotta luv that....

I remember the first day I got to Edwards. My sponsor picked me up in Lancaster. We drove and drove and drove and drove and drove...(you get the idea) out into the desert till we finally came to that sign. He asked me "You see that sign?" I said "Yeah" he said "Forget about it...we've got another 30 miles to go"
