Assessing the talent: Could play any of the linebacker positions. Even moves up to the line and rushes at DE. He has a ton of offers. He recorded 78 tackles, 15 sacks, and three fumble recoveries. A little short, but gets lost in the masses sometimes and hits you hard.

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 0% Committed without visiting NU.

Even with all the offers and lots of attention form the other elite programs, the Huskers have gotten a visit secured from him. This simply doubles their chances. He will be in for opening night with dozens of other recruits. Would be a nice ball player to have.

No suprise. Had we got him to visit, we would have had a better chance of landing him. This is why i said visits are so crucial in realing in prospects. Had he verballed without taking an unofficial or official visit, i would have said he might still fall in the decommit area, but i don't see that happening. He should be solid for LSU untill signing day

LSU adds 2 defensive commitments

Commitments continued to fall Thursday at a rapid rate for LSU football coach Les Miles a day after his final camp this summer.

The Tigers continued the recruiting momentum created Wednesday with commitments from the state's top two running backs with pledges from linebacker Bani Gbadyu of Gaithersburg, Md., and strong safety Danny McCray of Spring, Texas.

"LSU's been getting a lot of great players,'' said Gbadyu, pronounced Bod-ju.

"I'm just looking forward to making a lot of plays down there.''

The addition of Gbadyu and McCray gives the Tigers five commitments since Monday. The group also includes West Monroe linebacker/strong safety Shomari Clemons and running backs Charles Scott of Jonesboro-Hodge and Richard Murphy of Rayville.

LSU's surge increased its commitment total to 12, five of whom are out-of-state prospects and seven on defense.

"I like the coaches just like I like the Texas Tech coaches and I'm pretty sure their players are nice,'' McCray said. "I liked their facilities and how serious they are about education.''

McCray (6-foot, 205) helped lead Westfield High to the Class 5A state championship, falling to Tyler-Lee in the final.

He was voted first team All-District 22-5A and had the rare distinction of returning interceptions of 87 and 81 yards for touchdowns in the same game as a junior.

McCray is rated the No. 64 prospect on Rivals.com Top 100 list in Texas. He selected LSU over scholarship offers from Texas Tech, Arizona, Houston, Arkansas and Oklahoma State.

The scholarship offer list for Gbadyu (6-1, 205) is impressive as it is long.

Gbadyu, a native of Liberia, said a recent offer from Florida improved his own list to 38 schools, a group that includes Georgia, Penn State and Nebraska -- three schools he set official visits to in the fall.

"That was before I went to LSU's camp,'' said Gbadyu, who has a 2.8 grade point average and will re-take the ACT in September in hopes of gaining a qualifying score of 17. "There's no need to see other places. I've got my No. 1 and it's going to stay that way.''

Gbadyu credited LSU graduate assistant coach John Papuchis with setting the stage for his recruitment to LSU.

"He's the one that told them about me and they requested film from my coach and (LSU defensive coordinator) coach (Bo) Pelini liked it and he told coach Miles,'' Gbadyu said. "That's what got the train rolling and now I've got a chance to go in there early and getting some playing time.''

Gbadyu, the No. 9 ranked prospect on the Rivals.com Top 25 in Maryland, has started for the past two seasons at Ouince Orchard High, playing both running back and middle linebacker.

He is projected to play either weakside linebacker (4.5 time in 40) or safety in college.

Gbadyu was voted All-Montgomery County and named the team's outstanding defensive player with 78 tackles, including 15 sacks and three fumble recoveries. He also carried 36 times for 267 yards and three touchdowns.

"It was an amazing visit and I had a great time meeting people and I loved coach Miles,'' Gbadyu said. "It's amazing to think that you have an idea about a place and it turns out totally different. That's what I got at LSU. It was more than I bargained foR
