LB Kenny Demens

I think this kid would love to go to Nebraska, but there is something in Michigan holding him back(girlfriend, parents, etc.) that will keep him there. I just have a feeling that he is going to Michigan.

Wouldn't surprise me if Carr & company were using the same tactics with Demens that were able to land them Brandon Herron last year when he was a HEAVY Nebraska lean.
Hmmm...hard to know about Meechicken's tactics but I recall Herron's dad wanted him to go to Michigan and was the driving force on that decision. With Demens, I hope his mom is able to visit with him so we can get her blessing on her son being N!

C'mon Kenny...the Blackshirts await you!!! :bonez :bonez :bonez
Yep, it's working out REALLY well for Freeman listening to his daddy's hopes and prayers...last I saw, Nebraska has held Mechicken in check in the last 10 years...There is no way Mechicken could make Demens half the player he could be here.

With the help and Gray and Gabbert, and if he does attend the USC game, we should still have a reasonable shot of getting him. If he would cancel the USC game, then we might be in trouble.

gray and gabbert can only do so much. if he has his heart set on playing close to home, then that is understandable too.

he didnt cancel his trip for the USC game, he was asked to reschedule it (along with several other players) because the coaches were not going to be able to spend very much time with them.

he is in the process of resceduling probably for the OSU game

i think that the coaches only want to bring in about 5-7 players for the USC game if even that many

I missed that. I didn't know he is rescheduling and not going to the USC game. As long as he follows through and takes his visit with his mom, we still have a reasonable chance of getting him. And because of Gray, I like our chances of him visiting. I could be wrong, but I don't see him canceling and committing to Michigan. I see him either committing to NU right after his visit, or he will spend more time deciding on the two schools. The more time he would spend thinking about it, the more likely he is M.

That is sad if true that the coaches want to limit the recruits in for one of the marquee national games of the year.

while it would be an awesome game to have the recruits come in for the game, but if the coaches would not be able to spend any quality time with them and their family then would it be worth it?

i am not a coach and i did not stay at a holiday inn express last night either, but with the game day preparations that have to be done, i can see their points

Actually I think it is quite good. Sure it's a marquee game and Memorial Stadium will be rocking, but say 20 recruits all go to that game:

1. The coaches won't get to spend as much time coaching

2. They won't get to meet with all the recruits for a "quality" visit

3. If no chemistry is built with the coaches then no recruit

Sure it "might" sound bad they asked him to re-schedule, but now maybe he'll come and be the only one with perhaps Gray and Gabbert there.

The only downfall to some recruits not coming is it will be by far the loudest, most intense Memorial Stadium.

i had a different take. If the kid is serious about NU then he should be serious about meeting with the coaches and being able to take a look at things. If they aren't interesting in maxizing that aspect of their visit, you have to wonder how serious they are about coming here.

i agree with foppa though, that it's a shame to let such a great atmosphere go to waste.
