100% false. I have pretty decent credentials when it comes to the ACT... ACT is graded on a sliding curve and, a little known fact, is actually slightly factored based on other test scores on that date. Winter test date is actually almost always the EASIEST - Duke University runs a national talent identification program (TIP) that takes the top 7th graders in the nation and has them take the ACT every December to identify early bloomers academically. I did it in 7th grade as did several friends. Those who are smart enough to game the ACT as high school juniors/seniors know taking the ACT in December increases your chances of a higher ACT score.

In reference to the science portion, don't you get an 11 overall just by putting your name on the test? Plus, don't you get around a 15 by putting a random letter on each one without crossing off any ridiculous answers?

Haha absolutely not regarding the name. Studies have shown though that randomly guessing bubbles on a test should amount to between a 11-14 statistically.

You could get a 4.0 close to the top of your class at one school that has an easy curriculum....equating to getting a 2.8 and middle of the pack at another high school. GPA doesn't mean sh#t honestly.

See below for the ncaa requirements based on a sliding scale for the sat/act. Each score is cumulative, so Nehemiah's score is actually a 73 when all four scores are totaled which would require his GPA to be a 2.35 to be qualified by the ncaa standards. Key word is ncaa standards, each school may have slightly different standards for acceptance.

I went to High school with someone who had a 16 and a 3.5 GPA and got in.

I went to High school with someone who had a 16 and a 3.5 GPA and got in.

Were they in-state? If so, that's why. UNL accepts most in-state students as long as they have a 20 on the ACT OR finish in the Top half of their class

You can't visit or get official offers until you can show that going to qualify. That's (most likely) why he hasn't visited anywhere yet.

I understand the Ors! My point was the an 18 on your ACT ALONE doesn't get you into UNL. Someone said that was "more than enough" to get in which is very wrong.
