When Paul was younger he served hotdogs at memorial stadium, believe it or not. WATCH FOR HIM, he will have an outstanding senior year at Millard North.

Recruits weigh in on NU's plight

Millard North tackling machine Paul Homer echoes the sentiment of many in Husker Nation as he ponders Nebraska’s deflating Nov. 5 loss to Kansas versus the Huskers’ resounding Nov. 25 triumph over Colorado. “It was kind of a heartbreaker,” Homer said of the 40-15 defeat at KU, arguably the low point in NU’s season. “Everybody thinks they have an answer for what went wrong, but nobody really has an answer.”

Of the 30-3 triumph at Colorado, Homer said, “That was the Nebraska we’re used to seeing — the one that wins. I think they’re going to be pretty good in a couple of years.”

Homer, meanwhile, visited Nebraska’s practice Sunday as the Huskers pondered whether to offer him a scholarship. The 6-foot-1, 222-pound inside linebacker/fullback, who recorded 85 solo tackles this season, received a firsthand look at Callahan and company’s bowl preparations. A win against Michigan would be the Huskers’ third straight following three consecutive losses.

“I think they’re trying to get into the groove,” said Homer, referring to the transition from a run-based offense to the West Coast system implemented by Callahan last season.

Paul got his first offer, but it wasn't from Colorado State. His first offer came from Ty Willingham and Washington.

Unless the Huskers offer a full ride, they have no chance to pull in Paul.

 
Why is Homer not getting any respect? He was a two time all state selection. Was it because he didn't improve his tackle totals from his junior to senior seasons? 112 tackles with 85 unassisted were still pretty good.

I think CSU will eventually offer but that Washington offer came out of left field and blinded me. Did not see a Washington offer coming, let alone any interest.

 
4.88. Thats why. I am sure that he has a knack for playing the game, and that he possesses many of the intangilble that make a high school player great, but he lacks the speed neccessary to play at an elite division one program, which is what we are striving for. He is definately a developmental player that could be a decent defensive end by his junior year, but we dont have the luxory of giving those kinds of scholarships away to instate kids. That practice was the downfall of solich in the first place. I wish him well wherever he goes, and i really hope that he proves me wrong.
