Leach to S. Florida?

That Leach has been contacted by South Florida to be their new HC. While I don't really care for the guy, S. Florida would be a good place for him IMO.

 
Yeah it's near the ocean...and pirates....arrgh!!

Doesn't make sense though. They fire a guy who allegedly smacked a player and they want to hire a new coach who allegedly locked a player in a "shed".

USF honchos just wanted an excuse to get Leavitt out of the way. From what I've read, some important people down there had lost confidence that Leavitt has what it takes to be more than an "also ran" in the state. I'm not sure that the university has what it takes to be more than a distant 4th, but they seem to be dreaming big. Showing up in the top 10 a few times in the last several years got them hungry for more, I guess.

It does kind of expose their reasons for firing Leavitt as being little more than a pretty lame pretense if they bring in Leach, though.

I was thinking the same think. If they do this will make there program look terrible. We dont want you to hit the players but if you want to put them in a shed its cool.
 
I can't see Leach going to any SEC school. It sounds like UTK is going to go boring and safe with their next guy. David Cutcliffe is shaping up to be the most likely hire, although I just saw a rumor that university reps are in Chicago to talk to Lovie Smith.
