I'm not ready to start thinking about Heisman caliber type seasons or top 10 draft picks. One hell of a lot has to happen before that. We saw him against a defense that wasn't rushing the passer and they weren't playing a scheme that was 100% installed and that they were proficient at.
However, what he did show was much better accuracy than we are accustomed to and a few of his throws were great throws. One thing to keep in mind is that he is accustomed to playing with an O line that was WAY over matched. Even if he had last year's O line, it would be better than he had at Tulane. So, he's used to being under pressure. If the O line can show improvement over last year, it could very well be enough for him to have a pretty decent year.
Now....speaking like a typical Husker fan, I am really excited to see how all of this helps our running game. If we have a QB and WR that can be very affective in picking apart secondaries and an affective screen game, the RBs and O line are going to love what that does to their jobs.
