Legends division?

I love this new-found positivity kchusker_chris. I agree with everything you just said, and I think we'll land Johnson to solidify that OL a little more.

I was thinking the same thing the other. I'm gonna send a thank-you card to Mrs. kcchris.
bahaha. She did get a package in from VS last night :)

But honestly, you can't look at this class and not be encouraged by it. I was a little worried when things went a little stagnant mid-season, and after we lost Samuelson. We need Johnson, then we're golden. More emphasis on the OL - and Bo's doing that. 22 DBs in the last few years, 17 OL. Doesn't make sense. He's going to have to continue doing the same next year too, and the year after that. But everything about this class is encouraging.

I was down on last years class, so it's good to see the improvement. And it actually looks like I might end up very wrong about last years class. Almost everyone in that class has been talked up greatly this last season. All made it to campus which is a first for us. Again, it will come down to the OL for me though.

This class is what's needed to be succesful. I mean, according to ESPN Nebraska is #23, and they just updated their list today. that's where Nebraska has finished every year in the final AP polls...around the 20's. These class rankings really do predict the future, look at Alabama, Georgia, LSU, they all have top classes year in and year out. And they are always at the top come the end of the year. I think to be a real succesful team, the classes will need to start contending with the top dogs. In the #20's is really nothing special.

ESPN has the worst recruiting FYI.
How and why is that? they are the biggest sports broadcaster in the world.
which means they have the highest ratings - which is what they are after. rivals/247 do nothing but recruiting...and they do it well. ESPN's top 100 are solid, because those are the stories and the guys they are plugging - the ones playing the all star games they televise, announcing on ESPN w/ all their hats, etc. After that, ESPN gets sketchy. And 97% of the recruits that sign will be outside that 100.

There are also teams with awesome classes that dont do worth sh#t. There are also teams with lower classes that do. USKiffin and KState. recruiting rankings are a nice indicator, but many put too much stock into them.

I like to compare recruiting rankings like cooking a good steak.

You can take a cheap cut of meat and season it and grill it to make a pretty darn good steak. You can also take a top of the line prime cut of meat and turn it into a tough tasteless piece of card board.

However, it is EASIER to take that prime cut and grill a delicious juicy steak.

Recruiting rankings aren't everything. But, really great athletes can make an average coach look like a champion.

Bwahahaha, I thought the same thing. I even think of a tender juicy medium rare steak, slicing into it and watching the juices run out...Damn my mouth is watering.

Ah the advantages of living in SoCal, we grilled last night as a matter of fact.

Must agree, we seem to be doing quite well this year. I never expect top ten, I just want what we need to play the game. Still think we need more DL and top OL recruits, The more the merrier!
