My wife teaches 3-5 year old's with disabilities.
She is reading through one of her little students IEP's and she is able to pronounce around 15 words.
They are momma, dadda, hi, bye, love you, baby and or course "touchdown"
 Which one doesn't fit???????? :clap
You wife is a special person. I applaud her and what she does.
Special doesn't even explain it.
Two years ago she had a 3 year old girl that was blind, little walking stick and everything.
SHe has to deal with law suit happy parents, to whom the district bends over to and allows to break rules and do whatever they want. This family comes to open houses, IEP meetings and makes phone calls with lawyers present and tape recorders a blazin.
She has to clean diapers from 4 year olds who have speech problems
Many of her students have autism who continually beat themselves over the head with their fist if they don't get their way.
There are about 9 million other stories I have, good, proud ones as well, but they are few always overshadowed by the bad.
The thing that really pisses me off is the fact that a damn PE teacher who does nothing will get the same amount as my wife and does about one-tenth of what she or other classroom teachers would do.
