The guys on ESPN said that NC St was a potential darkhorse, a pretty good team. I'd love to see NU vs CU in the winners bracket on Saturday :)

If NU makes it into the Super, a potential matchup would be Miami in Lincoln.

Now that would be interesting, and a very tough draw for the Huskers.

First things first, lets get the bats going, and hope that the arms shine as they have all year!!!

You know we can talk all about a "national seed" but we need to win the regional first. We have one team "Creighton" that's certainly not afraid of us. I think the other two teams are going to be floored when they see the stadium and will be overwhelmed. I hope and pray NC St. can defeat Creighton because I don't want any part of them...

The State of Nebraska has two teams in NCAA baseball regionals but one of them is guaranteed not to make it out.

Creighton will join Illinois-Chicago and North Carolina State at the NCAA's baseball regional in Lincoln, hosted by the Nebraska Cornhuskers starting Friday.

No. 3 National Seed Huskers Take on Illinois-Chicago

Lincoln – The Big 12 champion Nebraska baseball team will make its ninth NCAA Regional appearance this week, as the Huskers were selected as the No. 3 national seed for the NCAA Tournament beginning Friday at Hawks Field in Lincoln. It marks the highest national seed in program history and the second time the Huskers have ever received a national seed (also 2001).

Nebraska Among 16 NCAA Regional Sites

Lincoln – The NCAA announced Sunday that the University of Nebraska was selected as one of 16 sites for next week’s NCAA Regional. The 2005 Lincoln regional begins on Friday, June 3, with two opening round games and could run through Monday, June 6 at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park.

Tulane is heading into the NCAA baseball tournament with the No. 1 national seed and plenty of confidence. The Green Wave (50-9), ranked No. 1 in at least one of the major national polls for all but three weeks this season, were selected as the top seed for the 64-team Division I college baseball tournament Monday.

A Big 12 co-championship and a demanding schedule paid off in a big way as Baylor received the No. 4 national seed Monday in the 64-team NCAA Baseball Tournament.

The Bears will be the top seed at the Waco Regional Friday through Monday at Baylor Ballpark. If the Bears win this weekend's four-team regional, they'll host a best-of-three Super Regional against the winner of the Clemson Regional June 10-13.

Host and regional top seed Texas (45-14) opens NCAA Regional Tournament play Friday against Northeast Conference champ and regioanl No. 4 seed Quinnipiac (26-22), it was announced Monday. The Austin Regional site also includes No. 3 seed Miami (Ohio) (44-16) and former Southwest Conference rival Arkansas (37-20), a No. 2 seed.

SEC sends nine to NCAA tourney

For the fifth straight year, the Southeastern Conference leads all conferences in the number of teams in the NCAA baseball championship field nine teams, followed by the ACC with seven and the Big 12 and Pac-10 with five each. This marks the fourth time in the last five seasons the SEC has sent at least eight teams on the “Road to Omaha”. The SEC sent an NCAA record-high nine teams to the NCAA Tournament in 2004.

 
LJS: (baseball) Jensen doesn't jive with closer stereotype

Each time Brett Jensen is summoned from the Nebraska bullpen to close out a home game for the Huskers, the lanky, 6-foot-7 right-handed junior takes the field to Alice Cooper's hard-edged headbanger, "Feed My Frankenstein."

Jensen's choice, by the way, and that seems like no big deal. Just typical behavior from one of those left-of-center, psychotic relievers who need to turn up the chaos while getting ready to do their job.

Thing is, Jensen is about as aw-shucks, small-town, central Iowa as they come. And beneath the loud rhythms of his entries lies a calmness that has allowed him to thrive as Nebraska's closer.

Look at what he endured at the Big 12 Conference Tournament last week.

Im not worried about Creighton, they better be scared of us. The only time they faced a weekend starter was againt Dorn before he moved up to the rotation, and he almost threw a no hitter. They dont scare me in the slightest. Im more worried about an unknown team that we havent seen all year. Our bats tend to shut down against good pitching that we havent seen.

 
Freshman right-hander Johnny Dorn (10-1, 1.86) and junior lefty Zach Kroenke (6-2, 2.68) will start games two and three for the Huskers, with junior southpaw Brian Duensing (7-0, 2.56) available for a fourth game or long relief appearance.

4-3 Huskers , Daniel Bruce screws the pooch and runs threw Mike Anderson's stop sign and gets pegged out at home. If he used his damn brain it would have been bases loaded with Gordan up
