Lincoln suggestions for a Wisconsin fan

There are 50 good bars to go to within walking distance of the stadium. Barry's is the traditional bar that's been there forever and the new owner fixed up the rooftop deck. I've only been in there once lately. 

Doesnt matter where you stay because once downtown you can walk to everything and Uber it back to the room.

O Street has a butt load of college bars full of kids your age some with beatnik bands you might like. The old State Theater on about 13th n O is now the Bourbon Theater where a bunch of beatniks banging on bongos or whatever you kids listen to are playing.

Shouldnt be hard to find entertainment down there if you just ask college kids... all walking distance.

In my opinion the places you mentioned sound boring.

Another place that's popular with hipsters and gangsta rappers is on the second level above the Railyard. It's called Vega and seems to be very popular. Not sure what they'll have that weekend...line dancing cowboys, heavy metal slam poetry, Tibetan gong chanting????.... whatever they play these days. Worth checking out.

Won't be going back to Madison, but I can drop him at Kirkwood in Chicago.

Mentioned in the off-season that I would be stopping back for some suggestions as we get closer to Wisconsin @ Nebraska on October 7th.

I will be driving from Chicago.  We're likely to get to the hotel around 3:00pm on Friday.  In our mid-20's and looking for suggestions regarding food, bars, pregame spots / tailgates, etc.

For Friday, where would you suggest to eat and grab some craft beer before going out at night?  I know Lincoln has Hopcat, and there's also one in Chicago and Madison, but how is Boiler Brewing and Longwell's?  Any other suggestions for places with quality beer and bar food?  Is there a main strip of bars to go out at night?

Game-time hasn't been announced, but what should we look to do on Saturday with respect to bars and tailgating?

Lastly, for tickets/seating in Memorial Stadium, are there sections worth avoiding due to obstructed views, etc.?

Please, I'd suggest treating your entire team to a hole in the wall, no name Chinese Buffett the day before they come to Lincoln.  The seedier the better.

• Blue Blood Brewing south of downtown is a hell of a place worth stopping into. Great locale, great food, great beer and taphouse (they also feature other local brews and ciders both on tap and in bottle), plus they built the taphouse on top of an old landmark called 'Robbers Cave' that used to be, among other things, a storage place during prohibition for bootleg booze. They give tours during certain times of the day of the cave and they use it as natural/green storage for their wares.   http://bluebloodbrewing.com/home
  
• ZipLine Brewing has a lot of great beers, and their Copper Alt is a regional success that you can find at most restaurants on tap. I'd highly reccomend stopping here too to sample local brews. http://ziplinebrewing.com/
  
• Empyrean Brewing Company has been in the microbrew business since the 90s (read: since before it was hip) and has some of the best beers in town. • Boiler Brewing Company is relatively new and TBH, I haven't sampled their wares yet. They're located in the Grand Manse Building (a few blocks south of the Stadium), and they have a taphouse there too. http://boilerbrewingcompany.com/

And BTW, when you say 'in the area', realize that Lincoln is rather compact (unlike Dallas or Omaha), so it's relatively easy to Uber/Lyft to other parts of town for cheap. There are a lot of good places both in and out of the downtown area by the University, and some places (e.g. Lazlo's) have alternate locations that the locals go to.  

Also...one kind of important thing to note: the local Farmer's Market (http://lincolnhaymarket.org/events/farmers-market-vendors.html) will be going on in the Haymarket from 7a-noon that Saturday. That means the Haymarket will be shut down...but if you want to sample more local foods/wares (I recommend Le Quartier Baking Company's stand--they have a store in East Lincoln too: https://www.facebook.com/Le-Quartier-Baking-Company-79458257586/) this is a great way to get some fresh air and meet/see people.
