Three of those 18 are freshman that won't be here until the Fall. Of the remaining 15, I believe (at least) nine are walk-ons.

dude, this is symptomatic of a bigger problem here........and you are correct, for the last few years our run D has been shredded! this needs fixed before we have a snowball's chance in hell of being relevant in the B1G.....

I agree. I think Banderas is in for a huge season. Can't wait to see Micheal Rose back out there too.

As much as we are hurting for depth at linebacker, I think our starting bunch is going to be one of the better groups in the Big Ten.

He can only get better, one hopes. He looked 'soft', slow, and out of position most of the time last year.

However, with Roach injured, Banderas started the Holiday Bowl and produced a team-leading 14 tackles. It was a solid performance -- good enough to catch Banker's eye. Banderas has good size and speed. And keep in mind that in Banker's scheme, the middle linebacker is asked to run free, to make plays sideline-to-sideline, meaning speed and athleticism is more important than it was in Pelini's scheme.
