Western Michigan at Nebraska
Last year, the Broncos surrendered 62 points to West Virginia in a season-opening loss and then allowed 89 more in the next two weeks, falling to a pair of additional BCS foes (Indiana and Missouri).
Bo Pelini’s Cornhuskers have more than enough offensive weaponry to continue the trend of Western Michigan’s early-season woes. But the monumental task of restoring the “Blackshirt” defense is still a work in progress.
If the Western Michigan offensive line can improve upon the protection it provides for talented quarterback Tim Hiller, the Broncos should be able to hang around awhile.
