Walk-on
It has been hard for me not to get on here and rank about the game because i am just as pi$$ed off as everyone else. But after thinking about the game all day and watching it again on my DVR, I wanted to get some other thoughts on things that I have observed. 1st- The O-Line: As a whole, where the hell were they, and what is Williams even doing in the game? He would of been more efficient just rolling around on the ground. Caputo....just do your job, Please! Why did we burn A. Rodriguez red shirt if we aren't going to let him play? He couldn't of done any worse. Also props to Henry though for not getting a personal foul for once in his life. 2nd - Wide Receivers: Can we not execute a route, or adjust the route to get open? Our couches have done a poor job developing our receivers in my opinion. They look slow and unsure about their routes. You have to teach them more than just blocking! 3rd - Backs: I love Helu and Burkhead, can we ask anymore of these two? 4th- QB: Dude, just throw the ball away or at least try to run away, don't just freak out and let everyone close in on you. Finally 4th- Coaches: Was the wildcat working TOO good or what? Were you scared that we might score or that you were going to force oklahoma to adjust to us and not send 7 guys every time? I just don't understand Watson at all. If this isn't YOUR offense, then don't run it! And i know people are going to say, well what about the defense, but the truth is; yeah they gave up a s*#t ton of yards but they made the stops that they needed to in order to keep us in the game. They gave the offense a chance several times, but they failed.

And just like the Iowa St. game and Va Tech and Texas games of a year ago and the AM game this year as well as OU, we for some reason have to put a little blame on the defense because they couldnt get that big pick 6 or fumble return to put us over the top. I'm not implying that i think you were putting some blame on the D, but some on here have, and they are stupid.

Iowa State game: the offense couldn't do jack when they had numerous chances for a game-winner at the end. IIRC it ended on an interception we threw on 4th down.

Virginia Tech game: This is hardly because they couldn't get a big pick 6 or fumble return. They could stop Virginia Tech with barely any time to go and with a 5-point deficit, from going 90 yards and scoring a touchdown.

Texas: Texas has what, a minute or so to go and we are leading? Special teams (kick out of bounds) and horse collar on the D on an ensuing play (practically in field goal range now) put us in a bad spot and we allowed the field goal.

The OU game actually falls under the first category (Iowa State): two chances by the O at the end to put something together or send it into overtime, both failed.

None of that erases the fact that we were up 17-0 before the defense gave up consecutive 80 and 71 yard drives to put Oklahoma back into it. And it's not like the D was routinely beat. They played lights out for the most part. There are three big costly plays that led directly to Oklahoma points though, so you can't help but wonder what might have been. Blame it on the player or scheme or whatever, don't even have to really blame anybody. But it was not a great night for Cassidy, beaten deep on a 49-yard throw. If Helu's run is being called just a defensive miscue, then Cassidy's was one hell of miscue. Hagg getting beat by nearly a yard. Dennard biting so bad on something that I think he was just out of bounds or at least five yards away when the ball was thrown to the receiver...

The O did more to help us lose though, I think there is no argument about that. I would say a couple of individual gaffes on both sides of the ball really hurt is in this game. Offensively you have Taylor's interception, several of his sacks, Taylor's fumle to start the third, Roy getting the ball knocked out, Caputo's snap to Burkhead, the last two drives. On defense, those three times a guy got beat as mentioned, Prince messing up on 3rd-and-24. Pelini Coaching: the call to risk our position, and then not to kick the 62 yarder with Alex; the call to start Taylor. There are a lot of things you can point to that hurt us without blaming/running anyone out of town, which I have not done, except for calling for Gilmore/Cotton to go and that has nothing really to do with this one game.

I believe I remember the play you reference when Henry was shoved by an Oklahoma player and didn't retaliate. I remember he had a similar situation in the Iowa State game when the team was at the goal line and a Clone shoved Henry and he held his cool. Burkhead scored on the next play and almost got decapitated. It is good to seen Henry has kept it in check at times this year at very important times.
